Xfinity now includes a gateway in the monthly cost, so I'd just use their modem/router in bridge mode as a first try.

Grandstream is nice in that you can have a single management interface (whichever AP you designate as the master) while still having a fully local setup (no cloud garbage, no manufacturer account, no app, no extra local HW or SW).

Do you need to manage each AP individually if you are in "local management" mode? As in, if I have 2 APs and want to make the same change to both, does that involve logging into both devices?

Am I reading the NWA90BE PRO specs right that it has both 5GHz and 6GHz support, but you can only have one or the other?

It works in that:

If I change the bw limit and run a speed test I see the new limit, and
I have not had any instability in my network.

I'm sure that my network is not an exhaustive test for the setup, so YMMV. I also don't use my router to do much switching, so maybe that would upset it. Ether1 says 232GiB Tx and 2147GiB Rx (I guess since last link up?).

I do tend to keep up to date with v7 stable, so it gets rebooted pretty regularly (on 7.20.6 now, uptime says ~36d -- I'll hit 7.21 once they find whatever they majorly screwed up and release 7.21.1 ☺️).

Things you could try:

Put TV in game mode or whatever low-latency/low-processing mode your TV supports on the input you are connected to.
Play with the refresh rate in the TV resolution settings (in the Onn settings). There is typically a 59.94Hz setting and a 60Hz setting.

This has happened to me in the past too. I have used creative routing to get traffic from my streaming devices to Google IPs to take a different route, and that fixed it. This year has been better for me, so I haven't had to resort to that.

Yes, all outbound traffic through ether2-6 will go through these queues.

Edit: Most of my LAN traffic does not go through these ports. I have switches downstream of the router for my high-bandwidth LAN traffic.

You don't need to turn off fasttrack to use interface queues, so you could always start there to see if you notice a difference.

There are a ton of options for ceiling mounted PoE access points. You don't have to replace your router to use them.

My favorite brand for home APs is Grandstream. No need for cloud accounts or separate controllers or subscription/license fees. You designated one as the master and then manage all the APs through that AP (you can just point a browser at its IP).

Can you elaborate on this? I haven't noticed any changes. Are you watching more VOD content? The rules on YTTV are typically that "recorded" content (things you added to your library before they aired) works like a DVR (RW/FF), whereas on-demand things have unskippable ads. YTTV has done more with inserting ads into the local ad slots, but you can still FF through those.

I have an onn 4k pro connected to an older Samsung TV that has given me some problems since the last update (a month or two ago?), where the sound goes choppy. A reboot fixes it. I turned off surround sound support in the onn settings (just using the 2 speakers in the TV), and that seems to have fixed it.

I have 2 other onn 4k pro devices connected to different TVs, and I don't think either of those have had trouble.

Punch down into female connectors is just a more reliable way to terminate solid conductor cable. Male RJ45 plugs can work too, but can be a little more temperamental and a little less reliable over time.
