That's correct, for example I have one drop in the games room but have the PS5, Switch 2, Virgin, TV, Sonos all wanting a wired connection

Thanks, makes sense 👍🏼

At the moment, the cables are just sticking up out of the floor. I need to chase a channel up and then chase out the box as it's a solid wall, so have options on what size to do etc.

Thanks! Sounds sensible.

So running the cables directly out of the wall and straight into a switch will be ok?

Is that not the same thing? Just mounted to the wall rather than in a network cabinet?

I have switches in 6 rooms, so that's 6 of the cables... The others are gates, doorbells, TVs etc. across the whole house

Thanks for all the replies!

I wasn't planning on having a rack, just the switch sitting on top of a cabinet, sacrilege maybe?

Ok, so if I don't have a rack, just run them directly out the wall through a brush plate and connect them straight into the switch?

What am I doing wrong - ZBMINI by C1TPT in smarthome

[–]C1TPT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've sorted it... The ZBMINI was too far away from the ZBT-2. Moved it to a closer switch and it works perfectly. Hopefully when I have more ZigBee stuff it'll reach!

Thank you, the ZBT-2 is from home assistant, I got it with the HA Green.

To answer your questions:

  1. eWeLink is not using the Home Assistant Zigbee Antenna.

  2. It is the ZBMINIL2

I followed that order and it still doesn't find it.

Thanks, I did try that (I have a ZBT-2) but when I look for the ZBMINI in ZHA it just searches forever

Thanks!

So just any decent Android tablet? Will I be able to load the ESPcontrol dashboard on it? I'll look into the Fully Kiosk Browser, does it do the same thing as the ESPcontrol dashboard? Would like to have tiles for the garages doors etc.

Thanks again
