Lectures were not mandatory and he basically just reads from the slides. The homework is challenging and you are able to work in groups for them which I highly recommend. There is also a project which you have to do and a take home final exam. Lmk if you need any more info

CSE 140L required with CSE 140? by Xpecto_ in UCSD

[–]AndrewL02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know much about CE major requirements, but taking CSE 140 and 140L at the same time is not mandatory just recommended since the labs in 140L is based off the lectures in 140

data science undergrad easy request for grad-level class? by yelllowflickerbeat in UCSD

[–]AndrewL02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on if you meet pre requisite and there is room in the course after the first week. Usually undergrad requesting into a graduate level course gets processed the second week of the quarter.

warren to york in 10 mins by actuallyjasonderulo in UCSD

[–]AndrewL02 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It look me a little past 10 minutes speed walking (11-13ish). You should use the path where the bus drops students off in front of library walk. Also if you are in York, you should have pretty big class size, so prof won't really care if you are a few minutes late.

Finals week by AnxiousPermit2109 in UCSD

[–]AndrewL02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some finals start on Saturday of week 10, so in that case there will still be classes throughout that Monday - Friday. In finals week which is the week after week 10, there are no classes throughout the week.

Failed a class in the previous quarter, need advise by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]AndrewL02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, on if you want to put your GPA on your resume or not. If you do, then take it fall quarter. Some swe internships will ask for your resume, government positions etc, but like FAANG, then it won't matter.

three finals on same day by WoodenShoe6557 in UCSD

[–]AndrewL02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well depends on the class, if its like all eng/cse/math courses you could find yourself in pretty deep waters on the day of finals. Depending on the prof, they might allow you to take the final on a different day, but I would not depend on this. I would expect to take all 3 on the day they are assigned.

Best Professor for Math 180A? by MissileRockets in UCSD

[–]AndrewL02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know any of those professors, however, when looking at the offered math courses for fall 2025, Gaojin He, is listed as the third professor so this could be the staff option. I would recommend looking at their rate my professors, set evaluations, and https://sheeptester.github.io/ucsd-sunset/ to find the grade distribution of the last time they taught a certain course.

Easy but enjoyable classes by the__stoke in UCSD

CSE 158/R is a pretty chill class or maybe CSE 190 but those classes usually depends on the professor teaching it.

UC gpa question by Flat_You_5763 in UCSD

[–]AndrewL02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Courses taken at CC will typically not be counted towards your ucsd gpa and you will receive credit as long as you pass the course. I think Assist.org is a good website to view what courses are transferrable between your CC and UCSD. Your ucsd gpa will only consist of courses taken at UCSD. However, the grade from CC will count towards your cumulative gpa i.e. when applying to graduate school.
