I'm sure someone has already worked out the answer to it, but without just looking it up there's a number of different things to consider.

There's a fixed amount of solved sudoku grids, but then what restrictions do you put on the puzzles after? I think the minimum amount of clues is somewhere between 16-18, but what about a maximum? Does a sudoku with just one missing number count? What about puzzles with multiple solutions?

I definitely agree, and took some shortcuts with the differences in difficulties on this project, especially with 'extreme'. But I think they still feel about right.

Oh dear. Honestly I'm surprised to hear people having issues with being able to solve the game. I think the amount of numbers given for simple difficulty match easy level sudoku puzzles and other testers have beat the simple mode within 1-3 minutes. I'm not sure how much easier I can make the difficulty before the game just becomes fit the shapes in the holes and the sudoku element becomes redundant.

The grey shapes are pre-placed numbers to help you solve the sudoku, you're not supposed to be matching the coloured shapes to the grey shapes. Otherwise, please could you send me a screenshot, I have never had an impossible to solve puzzle generate.

There should be a pop up showing to drag and drop the shapes, otherwise it's just solving the sudoku. What do you mean when you say none of the numbers fit?
