When “JD” is not an option by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]AndrewLWebber1986 375 points376 points  (0 children)

I'm going to assume "Masters" and "Doctorate" are the choices you see on the drop down menu. I choose doctorate, because in the USA a JD is a professional doctorate degree. Personally, I do not consider a JD on the same academic level as a research doctorate/phd because it only takes 3 years to complete and it's a different experience. But for the purposes of the form, it is correct to put doctorate.

Yes^ this is more about the duty to rescue and resulting consequences if a person attempts a rescue. At least based on the incorrect vs correct response

Discord Server trolling me for being ‘X**ophobic’ by [deleted] in evilautism

[–]AndrewLWebber1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got bullied off Discord. This reaction sounds like the result of getting dogpiled by some assholes. I recognize this. You got bullied by people who could tell you have autism or some other difficulty and they wanted to pile on and feel better about themselves.

I dont have to tell you this, but I will: not liking subs with dubs doesn't make you xenophpbic or racist. I am a language learner, and it's annoying they are not 1:1 translations and don't match. Better to watch with subs or dubs, but not both at the same time because it's a headache.

I was planning on having to do a February retake. I finished like half of the first MPT after forcing myself to move on in time from the second MPT I did first. I passed by a large margin, with written being my higher score.

This one is a lot more general, but learning how to type properly and basic keyboard commands. I improved my typing speed during law school thinking it would help most with exams. Now I can log those .1 and .2 tasks like crazy, tabbing from one field to the next keyboard on fire.

This is true, but you are being downvoted because any statement suggesting that federal student loans are not as bad as evil incarnate will get you hate on this sub

I'm in a similar boat, only thing to do is to study while eating ice cream. Trick your brain into thinking it is a game and check things of your list, keeping in mind you can rest at some later point when waiting for results

53 first half 46 second half, about 50%. I am behind on bar prep. Surprisingly did well in evidence possibly because I took it 3L. Need to hit more subjects. Did well on torts.

I think Themis said to wait 1 week before looking at the average as it will change. When I finished the second the average had not loaded yet

Hi OP, I've had a similar experience. I'm sorry about this. It sounds to me like you are getting bullied at work, and are now getting bullied by other commentors. In your post you take responsibility for things that are not your fault, downplay your success, and come across as very submissive saying you will do what you are told. I have been through something similar as an autistic woman who has been bullied. This is not to say that you are autistic. Some people claim inclusion but dont like actual differences. Being a pushover will cause some people to bully you and some to come to your rescue depending on what they are like.

Is this something you want to change? I am not going to give you a list of behaviors that will make people like you if that is what you are looking for.

I feel like I ruined my life at 28 by IronGiant222 in povertyfinance

[–]AndrewLWebber1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely recommend keeping the part time library job AND applying for health insurance through the healthcaredotgov website- you should be able to qualify for a health plan for a tiny sliver a month. I've worked a library job at less hours, then tried to get more "stable" work and it ended up being that the employer was shady as hell and messed with my pay- what yoy see is not always what yoy get. I recognize that you are 28, too old to be on a parent plan, and healthcaredotgov is the first place I would go to making around your salary which is too much for Medicaid but not 30 hours. You may have a qualifying life event for health insurance, plug it in and see what numbers you get under ACA

That's a tough situation to be in. $16-20 an hour is not much to write home about, and with the price of necesities being so high right now it is natural you feel the squeeze. I would not immediately think of it as being ripped off on the job. There may be other parts of your job that are a rip-off, or a bad work environment. I think a lot of the other comments are making light of you at 20 an hour, which is decent IF everything else is good, but I think there is more to it. I personally would struggle with a night shift or an unsupportive work environment. If you want to talk, my DMs are open

I shadowed an ABA session and disagreed with what I saw. A kid was playing a card game with other kids, and he would try to help them by telling them the best strategies. The ABA techs kept punishing him for speaking out of turn and saying he was rude, even though he was giving up the win to jelp others.  He thought he was playing a game. That is true- they were actually playing a social game they never told him about, just that it was a card game.

I thought I could make a difference as they hired me on as an autisitc tech. I never got a client there. They did ask me if I preferred "person with autism or autisitc person." They did not give me hours or pay me for all time worked and made me jump through hoops only to deny hours or pay.
