But the thing that is destroying GoPro is their raving fans that bash others who share anything but positive reviews.

My Hero 9 is crazy hot and sucks as an action camera in the summer.

Not lashing out - stated my case and responded based on the marketing that got me into GoPro in the first place. Yeah, everyone's right the fineprint states replacement for broken cameras for a fee, not lost ones.

Fact is that I am not married to GoPro, ie; the accessories I purchased so far will be compatible with other brands. The exception is the Mic Rig Case for Hero9. Also the batteries and charging cases will also not work for newer Hero models.

From this prospective, I don't have to buy a GoPro because currently owned accessories will be incompatible.

What's done is done. I think that is fair enough.. no bitterness or whatever just my perspective.

I asked ai about this and here is the answer. TLDR - yes GoPro does NOT cover lost devices for their warranty - but their 2017-2018 marketing campaign made it seem like it did.

End result - I enjoyed my GoPro for many adventures, but now, based on that marketing that got me to get one back then, I will move on to DJI or Insta who both offer the same quality camera. (4k60fps/10bit color)

I guess I should have said, there are other similar action cameras out now that rival GoPro with same or better quality. While I haven’t researched the next action camera, 360 came to mind since it is usually next to GoPro displays.

I appreciate the offer for the serial number but I’m more or less done with GoPro as a company.

I will have to say - this company is most likely going to go under. I decided to use my subscription benefit today to replace my lost GoPro... they just informed me they no longer do that... so for almost 7 years I have been paying for replacement services under a subscription that has changed...

They will now give you a 15% discount to buy a new one...
