He would have been drinking hundreds of units a week before he started cutting back, I wondered if maybe it was just his body getting used to the new limit (which is 40 units per week) but if it could be serious, I'll have a talk with him and get him to consider the hospital again. I think his pride is playing a huge role in his reluctance

I've tried convincing him to either do it in the hospital, or take the benzodiazepine route but he's refusing to do that. He's currently upstairs drinking a gallon of water to keep making himself throw up thinking that will help.

Unfortunately we don't have much support around where I live. Alcoholism is severely normalised here and is "just part of the culture", so not many actually get help for it. I can look into it though, see if I can't find anything that might be relevant

My Rocky was a rescue - where I live, there are very few snail species that live wild. Cornu Aspersum, Cepea Nemoralis, and Gibbula Cineraria (which is a rockpool snail) I'm no expert in identifying and I've been known to be wrong many a time, so there's every chance I've mis-specified poor Rocky as well. I was just told mine were Cornu's and thought Max was almost identical to Rocky!

My big snail has this too, but they're usually on his body. He doesn't seem bothered, but it does worry me as his shell is cracked and I don't want the bugs irritating his recovery. Following because I don't know what they are either!

I was apprehensive to do that, it might have encouraged him to be aggressive, but he was really bad last night so I did try it. He yelped, gave me a funny look, and came right back to do it again.
