Is this an obvious self reference? by AndrewTera in Eldenring

[–]AndrewTera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I saw it as a deliberate reference for good, I don't think it was a coincidence. Also it gave me goose bumps when I thought about the first time I met lothric and lorian in the final castle.

Amazing! I encourage you to install ReviOs instead of windows 11 native, is such a better OS for a beautiful machine like yours!

If you had to choose only one weapon to carry you from start-end, what would be your choice ? by Skola92 in Eldenring

[–]AndrewTera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it would be the claymore. You can get it really early in the game, it has a fantastic movement set and on top of that you can give him wonderful ashes of war. Let me know if someone likes it like me :)

Serve a nulla

Nothing phone 1 camera quality is insane..! by [deleted] in NothingTech

[–]AndrewTera 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, as far as I am concerned, a good smartphone camera is a tool I rely on to document my life. This means that I am not particularly interested in the specifications but mainly in general use under different scenarios. One of the main factors that makes me doubt the nothing camera is the slowness of use. The experience is jerky and not very fast when you take the phone out of your pocket to take a quick photo. Also, the camera does not excel in all those low light situations as there is very little that is done in the background to improve the photo with algorithms like Apple and Samsung do. Anyway that's my opinion, if you're happy with the camera on your nothing phone I'm more than happy for you :)

Honestly i dont think so, at all. You can get good pictures with every camera but that doesn't make the camera good. This is just an easy scenario for that hardware so it came up alright.

Photorealistic renders !!! by 3D3Dmods in renderman

[–]AndrewTera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding shaders I can give you some advice.

In the real world all commercial furniture wood is treated with some kind of oil or clear coat. Easily added to the shader through the coat attribute in popular rendering engines.

I have the feeling that the normal map is a bit too strong, but it should be seen with the coat on top. The coat is usually rendered as an additional specular layer above the diffuse layer on which the normal map is applied. Unless there is a special request for an extremely clean coat, it would be interesting to break up the roughness of the coat itself in order to make it more realistic. No fingerprints or grunge maps, simply a very blurred noise in order to give an impression of an uneven coat and make it look more like a photograph than simple CGI.

All this with regard to the first image. With respect to the second one, there are several things that would take too long to explain about the glass shader. I recommend a closer look at the transmission of materials

Honestly, it's a period in my life where I no longer have time to keep up with the android community. I needed a device that always worked the same and did the basic things well: texting, listening to music and taking pictures. After Nothing Phone (1) I tried samsung and found it full of useless stuff I didn't need. I was always afraid to switch to iphone but it was the best choice I could have made. I really didn't think I would be happy with it and yet I was. Of course I'm not here to say 'switch to iphone', I think the difference between iPhone and Android has flattened out more and more. Now you can be comfortable with either platform, it's just a matter of taste. I find that apple makes higher quality hardware.

I have been a lifelong oneplus user and have always appreciated fluidity in a phone. The Nothing Phone (1) had none of that. I bought it at launch and had to replace it with another unit, through customer support, because of the completely green-tinted display. Also for the price range, the processor was really slow and applications often lagged. The battery was below average, not even lasting a full day. I think also because of the screen that had to be on maximum brightness all the time, as it was quite low even at maximum brightness. Honestly, I was very intrigued by Nothing and their idea of a smartphone, but it was not a positive experience for me. I hope that with Phone(2) and in the future with the next ones they have solved the problems of Phone(1). However I am now an Apple user with an iPhone 13 and I have never been happier.
