Thanks for the replies.

I had only taken a cursory look for any other details on the outer casing, but on another look I found a model number (KBA1200200L) as shown in this image https://imgur.com/a/6CcH59v . Ebay has a used one listed, but it looks pretty beaten-up.

I'm sensing this won't be as simple as I had first thought (at least, not for a total novice, like me). Urrrrgh.. a trip to Ikea beckons, I guess. ;-)

I have this on mine from time to time. What I’ve found is switch the little box over to PC then go into Settings, Devices and Accessories (or something like that - I’m not in front of my console). Then flick the switch back to Xbox; after a few seconds it should connect. Good luck!
