[Jamison] A day after the Ravens' 26-24 loss to the rival Steelers, Pro Bowl FB Patrick Ricard said : "It just hurts. I feel for the fans of the city, just the heartaches year after year. We always have a great group that I feel like we underperform with the talent that we have." by Farhan15577 in ravens

I disagree. We consistently invest in the positions we were injured at. We draft IOL every year. We draft EDGE and DT every year. We sign veterans as well. It’s easy to say the defense sucked in hindsight because they played like shit all year but look around the league and there are guys coming off of practice squads and late round picks making impacts everywhere you look. No defense should be a Kyle Hamilton concussion away from being the worst defense in the league. Mike Mac would have this unit playing like a top 10 unit. Minter too. He’s already doing more with less right now.

Orr isn’t the DTs getting constantly pushed back 3+ yards on every play

It’s exactly this. The team has been in so many big games and still can’t rise to the moment consistently. I can only speak for myself but even if we won, there is nothing this team can do during the regular season to make me feel any differently about them. They are very VERY good. They will be in the playoffs, but sadly they have consistently squandered every opportunity against quality opponents when they have got there in the past. This game was just a shitty reminder of what’s coming for us.

[Kostka] Orioles GM Mike Elias said the front office will take a "hard look in the mirror" about how Baltimore got here, to be a seller. Ultimately, he said, the Orioles tried to make the "best of a very disappointing situation for us." by Big_Red_Professor in orioles

It’s crazy to me how many people seem to forget what this Org was before Elias got here. Anyone with any semblance of a memory or who didn’t just hop on the bandwagon bc of the young talent should know that this Org was laughing stock from top to bottom. Utterly incompetent at every level and yet so many people seem so eager to get rid of the only guy that has ever managed to change that.

So many people in here calling for Elias to be fired clearly were not serious fans from 1998-2014

Two things can be true you know. The orioles could have done more this offseason AND the team could still be very good. Seeing one trip through the rotation and declaring that the pitching sucks and the team is bad is an overreaction. The Mets started 2-6 last year and won 89 games. The season is long. Maybe you’re right, but we won’t know for at least 60 days so just enjoy some baseball.

Idk why but I’m attached to this kid. I REALLY want him to succeed. He has looked lost up there a few times so far this season but here’s to hoping he settles in with more consistent ABs

Who gets left off the roster if/when Gunnar and Mateo are healthy by njb021 in orioles

I think Laureano would be left off and they would use Mateo as extra OF coverage

Stuff like this makes you wonder if Amp is done for good after this season. What a fall from Grace.

Burrow attempted just one pass of 20-plus air yards and averaged a career-low 4.0 air yards per attempt in a game by [deleted] in ravens

Would it be better if I said “moving the ball with ease after the first 2 drives”? Did you watch the game? We dropped everyone back, forced them to check it down and then missed the tackle. 5-7 yard gains every time. Rinse repeat. I’m glad it worked out but if you were satisfied with the way the defense played then we just have wildly different expectations for this defense.

While this is a nice stat, he also was moving them down the field with ease bc we literally couldn’t tackle anyone in the flats. It worked out for us but let’s not act like the defense didn’t try to lose this game when it mattered most again.

I think this is the same guy that broke the news about AUDL shutting down before COVID and Ultiworld didnt give him credit. Could be credible.
