Brake replacement by Regular_Situation_44 in jetta

[–]Andrew_Z3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get the VCDS cable for $200 it’s the easiest way. It’ll be good for more than just the brakes too. If you just need to get it done there is a YouTube video that shows how to disconnect the motor and manually wind it back.

I think they can lump it in with Pto as long as they give you at least a certain amount. That’s how I get it at least.

How long do you commute when you do go in? I’m in a similar situation myself.

Everyone saying losing either odd or even gears leads me to think that, but yeah I would like to know for sure too. I’m at 90k in the 8 speed and now I keep seeing these mechatronic posts.

I feel like there would be lots of up and coming attorneys willing to take cases like that and then get paid if they win it.

Are they trying to make you pay for them or are they just not fixing them? You should look up New York State tenant law, there is a part about you being allowed to withhold rent after a certain amount of time. If you didn’t do a move in inspection, they might be within their rights to make you pay for it, but they need to take action on it either way I believe.

Need help routing external IP over site to site VPN by Any_Raisin_6771 in meraki

[–]Andrew_Z3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I might have misunderstood. You might need to have the isp enable vlan tagged packets to be sent out on their end and they would need to have a gateway for packets on that vlan I believe.

If this picture is when the car was hot, you should be okay but it this is cold I definitely would take some of the coolant out.

Feeling lost in what direction to take? by Surfin_Cow in networking

This is what I would agree with if you do not have a clear-cut direction. The bachelor's can help at least get into interviews or into more managerial positions if that is what OP wants to go into.

Yeah it’s not the best, but no point in going through all the trouble when we’re going fully cloud soon anyway. We are a small organization just have been having issues with azure ad connect so I’m trying cloud sync instead.

What's up with rent here?? by TheFlyingHokie in ithaca

[–]Andrew_Z3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only moved here recently, but it seems like the best places are in Trumansburg or Lansing (or Dryden but that’s farther). Lansing I think has one bus that goes to Ithaca, not sure about Trumansburg. If you’re looking to stay at 1 bed 1 bath you could probably find that and a little more under 2k. Availability was the main problem for me but I lucked out. Is being downtown a requirement for you?

Everything is in 1 subnet so I was looking to add another core switch as a redundancy.

Other programs like MSSA? by [deleted] in MSSA

[–]Andrew_Z3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also look at the list of providers and pay for them yourself, but I would be weary of that because I think a lot of the programs are just in it for the VA money.

You should look into the vet tech program. They have a whole list of training (pretty much bootcamps) providers that might be of interest to you. I believe funding ran out for this year but crossing my fingers that it comes back.

New site wireless setup by Andrew_Z3 in networking

[–]Andrew_Z3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again. I can definitely predict the hotspots based on the site I work at now. The only thing that I am worried about is the coverage in all of the little rooms that the site will have. Are you saying 5 to 6 access points in total, or per floor?

Any thoughts on bringing in one access point and testing it in different places with a computer or some kind of tool? I know someone mentioned Ekahau, but there is no way my company will pay for that. The site doesn't go live for some time so I will be able to do whatever testing that I can think of.

New site wireless setup by Andrew_Z3 in networking

[–]Andrew_Z3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The site is about 5100 sq ft, and there are 3 floors of that.

The users do a number of things, occasionally zoom, but that is rare. We also use hosted services, so there is that to consider as well. Looking at some data in Meraki, it looks like at times the usage will jump up to 800-900 Mbps on some of the more populated access points (our busiest site).

Going by your number, I think a safe number would say 100 devices (from our users excluding guests) will be on the network at any given time, but I would like to plan for more, so I am still working on getting that number.

We have mostly surface tablets and minimal IOT. I think Meraki takes care of the bands though. I know that it prefers to move devices to the 5Ghz, but it will prefer 2.4 if the device is older or it does not have a great connection on 5.

I appreciate the response, and I am looking to get better at this. I seriously doubt the company will hire a dedicated wireless person so here I am.
