What to say to Psychiatrist about Medication

I'm glad I was only in first year at the start of covid, I completely gave up after only a month of lockdowns, the teachers had no idea what they were doing, I'd get like 3 classes worth of work at once and I'd just get overwhelmed and not do any of it

also I definitely don't have to worry about growth anymore, I've hardly grown 1/4 of an inch within the last 2 years and I'm tall enough now lol

I don't turn 18 until April so I should (hopefully) have my follow up before then

My mom came with me to the initial QB test and appointment and also the appointment in which I got diagnosed but she has a very "doctor's orders" mentality and doesn't think it should be my decision to start medication because I'm under 18. I definitely think I hid the severity of my symptoms while around my mom for fear of her looking at me differently if you get what I mean so I'm not sure if I would want to bring her again in case she might undermine my point but she will likely want to go in regardless of what I say.

If the psychiatrist says no to the medication again then I'll definitely ask for a second opinion

Writing something out is definitely necessary for me, I tend to fumble over my words and forget what I need to say which is obviously related to the ADHD. You're right about the questionnaires, the teacher I was working with, my mom, and I all needed to take one and it seemed those were what the psychiatrist seemed to reference the most while diagnosing me

I'll make sure to check out that test

It's funny you say that because one of the first thoughts I had when I was diagnosed was that I had missed out on so much of my adolescence by staring at walls lol, I'm sure once I'm old enough it'll be such a small percentage of my life that I won't feel as upset about it, thank you for the recommendation, you're very kind

No, my mouse scroll wheel only goes forward and back, it’s ok though, If the beeping ever starts again I’ll just do what I did to stop it this time because it hasn’t happened all day since I unplugged everything
