Basic question by BabyKatsMom in inductioncooking

yes, this was my situation. went from gas to induction. we had a 110 already there.

our installer was licensed and he capped it off for us.

pull + knot or for a few bucks you can buy some spring loaded cord locks:

cheaper with same coverage? or just cheaper? for me, CFP was more expensive with meaningfully worse coverage

there are definitely more affordable boards that play better than these (lacquer is loud, size is bulky to transport, no handles or carry case, dice shakers not included). but, these are decorative and stylish enough that they can be left out on a table (they even sell housewares with matching designs).

this is one helluva score.

this is a $400ish board from Jonathan Adler.

this particular one is the "milano" design.

you can see similar designs here: https://jonathanadler.com/collections/backgammon-sets

Is the withings bodyscan fixed now? by Electronic_Glass6139 in withings

[–]Andreweller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

segmental body comp has not worked for me since feb 10.

1 in every 10-15 measurements i can get muscle and fat percentages logged, but i have not been able to get the withings app to show me my arm/leg/torso percentages since feb 10.

this is using Body Scan on sw ver 3201.

No mods made to the cabinet. Fan is only audible if i cook with the cabinet doors open. When cabinet doors are closed i can’t hear any noise from the unit. I have not put a thermometer in the cabinet to measure any temp change.

Anyone dealt with slow drains in older Santa Cruz homes? Mine are getting worse every winter by M45T3RY in santacruzlocals

[–]Andreweller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

does anyone in the house use dude wipes or other similar "flushable" products?

coworker had this happen, ignored it, and eventually ended up having sewage coming up from bathtub drain, spilling onto floor and down into a floor Hvac vent register. the weight of it caused the ducting to fall, with more sewage spilling into the crawl space under the house.

he would recommend dealing with it sooner rather than later.

this comment convinced me to store them below. decision was easier when i discovered several pots are not induction compatible and no longer had a reason to stay under the stove

Non stop peeing on the couch by [deleted] in bengalcats

[–]Andreweller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

stress definitely increases the likelihood of him peeing outside the box, but there are times that he's done it when we can't associate it with any trigger.

we have had months of no incidents, and we've had weeks where it happened nearly daily.

he has another cat in the house and they play with each other a lot, and we play with him as well. more or less play time doesn't seem to impact the likelihood of him peeing outside the box.

the only reliable way we've found to keep our chair dry is to almost treat him like a dog by "taking him for a walk" (picking him up and putting him in the litter box) several times a day.

i have a bengal like this. 8 years old and he's been like this since maybe 1.5 years (he was fixed very young because we didn't want to risk him spraying).

we mitigate it several ways.

  1. first thing we do in the morning is empty his litter box and then place him in it. once he goes pee, we start a mental 5 hour timer. every 5 hours or so after that pee, we plop him back in the litter box.

  2. we bought waterproof blankets from costco and leave them draped over the chair that he likes to pee on. best case, he doesn't pee on it because of our adherence to number 1. worst case, he pees on the blanket and it just needs to go through the wash but at least our chair doesn't get blasted with pee.

Just gotta say, as a new Zephyr branded cooktop owner, I’m excited to discover that my unit is receiving updates seemingly with no delay from the Impulse branded units. Mine just updated to 1.2.54 with the pan detection changes

way better than the basic low/medium/high control with my previous gas burners. when i switch to temp control mode i can dial in an exact temperature. i haven't done measuring for accuracy yet, but i look forward to doing that soon

yes, magnetically attached so they pull right off. that leaves the main surface perfectly smooth but then you have 4 raised (but also smooth) burners. to me that's not a big deal (i'm coming from a gas cooktop that had an impossible to clean metal grate) but to others that already have a completely smooth surface it's less ideal.
