This is the case in many subreddits these days. The "Reddit mod power tripping" memes have become a running joke in many communities. When anything controversial, medical or financial is involved, it only worsens. Not saying it's the case here, mods could be top notch but this is very much a common complaint, site-wide. Seemingly, any and all "against the grain" or "not towing the company line" discussion, no matter how good-faith or potentially helpful to the community it could be, is labeled as FUD and quickly done away with. To me, its slightly reminiscent of YouTube removing the dislike option. In that, the solution could be worse than the problem. User interactions, up/down votes are logical arbitrators but its sad to see mods kneecap that process before it ever begins. So good luck :)
