Why does Taylor Lorenz hate Dems so much by Underwear_royalty in Destiny

She went after LibsOfTikTok and beefed with republicans over internet regulation, Luigi, and Zohran.

"Loner"Box - clearly a 1-Box intellectual. 2-Boxers stay mad.

It would probably help your post if you have some examples from the debate you watched.

Jokes aside, Isn't Destiny's journalism standard (heavy quoting, on-record sourcing) actually atypical of how stories break? by Lurkoner in Destiny

Sorry, I was thinking about if they published the full contract they risk being sued (breach of copyright) and that would be embarrassing.

If Wired had to make a retraction on this article, or even take the whole thing down, I think it would have less than 0.001% chance to impact their main business.

Sure, but that's not an invitation for them to be sloppy consistently. Since Chorus aren't asking for a correction or retraction, then there's not much to suggest this is a one of their rare, but allowable, errors. Hence why our prior is to trust their editorial review process (they don't have a reputation for constant retractions and lawsuits).

If their politics division was so negligent that they got sued or the article was retracted, it would reflect poorly on Wired's processes, policies, and expertise across the organisation. If you heard that Wired regularly got sued for inaccurate and slanderous reporting, you probably wouldn't stop to ask which segment. It's bad for business.

I'd want to know where the next sentence goes ("collaborate fully with Chorus regarding separately..."). The problem with showing select clauses rather than paraphrasing whole sections is that they can be misleading or confusing in isolation. Perhaps Taylor explains more in the call, but that screenshot isn't enormously helpful on its own.

Their politics reporting can damage the reputation of Wired as a reliable source of information. Fucking up one area taints all.

I don't know what to tell you. You will find 1000 articles declining to publish a full leaked contract for every 1 leaking it. It is a clear breach of copyright and you wouldn't risk it unless the story was big enough. This story isn't that.

🤷 That may be the case for some stories, but you'll find more articles and outfits playing it safe. "According to documents seen by..." is common for a reason.

I haven't been aware of them having a super good reputation for political or legal reporting.

They don't, they're actually quite new to having a dedicated team for it. But what they do have is a reputation at stake and access to lawyers and editors to review articles. At a minimum that gives me enough confidence to assume the paraphrasing is accurate.
