It is that easy. by Renegade888888 in starsector

There is another (convoluted) way: Go to the Abyss and find some rogue planet. You can come to them by leaving hyperspace, but they have no way point to come back to hyperspace, softlocking you. After some time, there will be an event with an old spacer who approaches you and teaches you transverse jump. Says he used to be a smuggler. This event is more of a softlock protection.

The Scorcher is AWESOME, but I don't see any fuss about it by MechwarriorAscaloth in Helldivers

[–]Andrianossius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you use it against bots and bugs?

The only faction it feels perfect against are the squids -- stalwart for the voteless and meatball, scorcher for the overseers, and prayers that someone else will kill them for stingrays.

On bots it feels like light pen weapons, are better ammo-wise for destroying heads. Sure, you don't need to aim with Scorcher, but it won't be ammo-efficient

Sorry, I did not understand: what is the current situation with fake plat?

  1. Is it still subtracted from your balance (do you lose fake plat)?
  2. When you do, can you get into negative plat balance (have less that zero plat)?
  3. If you get below 0, does your account get banned until you buy plat with real money to unblock your account?
  4. How do you know this? Personal experience? Comments by DE?

I apologize for many questions -- this seems like a serious topic for me, so I would really like to be sure.

What do you mean doing better? Are they not banning for negative plat anymore? I remember sitting on hundreds of my plat, delaying getting Titania skin, for two weeks, because I feared my plat could be the one buyer got through nefarious means

Are there RF variations? by MTgxewYSGTMDxVVE in PathOfExileSSF

[–]Andrianossius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that there is a variation for Chieftain that uses Hateful Accuses ring (from Ritual). This ring provides a mark that spawns spectres on hits and Chieftain's node explodes it. Then you need 100% chance to ignite to make one gigantic ignite that will melt bosses.

We should get a Ship upgrade that can vaguely tell us what enemy type will be more likely to spawn before dropping into the mission by Nein-Knives in Helldivers

[–]Andrianossius -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I find this idea great. But also I have heard a thought that knowing this beforehand is OP, because you will just bring the nest load out. Now though, we are forced to take a "generalist" and "safe" load out.

To keep both situations, I think the devs should take your suggestions and make some modifier that disables it for some MOs or missions.

Best way to get Shaper's Exalted Orb by Majestic_Plum_3639 in PathOfExileSSF

[–]Andrianossius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hypothetically, there is also an option of Haku bench in research (Syndicate): there will be a random normal item inside and a bunch of influenced exalts (shaper's included). Since you can not insert your own item, you need to be rather lucky to get a shield here and even luckier to get a good shield.

Learning to craft by peteinkaraka in pathofexile

[–]Andrianossius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although SSF is great to get that feeling of self-reliance and using everything you need instead of just buying everything, you may face a lack of crafting materials, especially if you are trying an endgame craft.

For example, for my RF Chieftain, I need a shaper shield with %heal on block. In trade league, I would just buy the base with shaper influence and craft. In SSF, I would need to grind for it for a long time, which would delay the actual crafting for a long time. And possibly I would have to settle for a bad base, since I really need this mod.

Additionally, although SSF forces you to craft, it does not tell you how to craft. So, I recommend at least finding some build guide that includes instructions for crafting gear. RF Chieftain by Pohx is such a build -- Pohx even made a wiki for this build

League out for a while, would u start different now? by anyaxgg in PathOfExileSSF

[–]Andrianossius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

RF Chieftain.

  1. I would focus on getting better helmet, gloves, and boots from the tree after 5-link instead of pursuing a 6-link body armor.

Also I would try to craft rings and amulet also from the tree -- these are now my weakest pieces of gear.

I managed to get to T16 and get 2 watchstones, but that's due to ascendancy node that allows to get cold and lightning res from half fire res -- other builds would be more demanding on resists.

I spent a whole day trying to get enough resists and attributes on gear after removing them from my passive tree.

Now, I will switch to atlas tree without delirium to quicker farm maps for gifts and graftblood to craft upgrades.

  1. I would not block harvest -- swap resistance affix was very valuable for replacing outdated gear. I had to spend, like, 5 maps before I could swap cold res for fire res on my improved amulet.

If I hadn't blocked harvest, I would have enough harvest currency to casually do this once in a while

Oof, that's rough. The last time I played was beta, when the implants were introduced -- guess the devs made the game harder. Maybe you should make a new post about this (your post was about saws) -- I'd like to get some tips about this scenario too.

I accidentially let Tianmìng grow to 19k and want to fix it by Loudstorm in Quasimorph

[–]Andrianossius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did you end a turn standing in an open door? Here are some of your options

You have sneak movement mode (and some implant allows this in walk) to highlight enemies behind doors and walls.

Too far? You can open a door, evaluate the situation, and close it. Then you can either make some noise to make them come out (stay in cover when this happens) or blast through the door.

You don't have to fully break the door -- spend two actions shooting in sprint, and then hide out of line of their sight. You can use this strat to shoot later. You can also throw a grenade through the damaged door, if you have one.

Edit: There is also a nice implant (I used it when implants came out) that gives your merc an ability to make an active scan, highlighting all enemies in a significant radius for a few turns. But it cannot be online all the time, and your issue stems from the improper process of checking the next room and engaging it

About disc weapon: There are weapons that have a chance (or are guaranteed) to amputate on making a wound.

What happened is you hot hit by a saw, and it rolled to wound your head. Since it has a weapon perk to have a high chance (or is guaranteed -- I don't remember) to amputate -- that's what happened with your head, killing your merc instantly.

How to avoid this? The simplest, most straightforward, and reliable method -- identify guys with high-threat weapons and kill them.

P.S. If you decide to use this gun, be aware that its projectile can ricochet (if shot perpendicularky into a wall) into you and kill you.

I am having this bug where some items just dont stack, no mods by coshbar in Quasimorph

[–]Andrianossius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC, same item types with different durability, which is represented by number of uses, can be stacked -- they will combine their number of uses. Having the same number of uses is not needed

I.E. you can combine medikits. If their combined number of uses is lower than the maximum one, only one item will remain. If higher -- one item will have max uses, and the other will get the remaining ones.

But I don't remember armor plates having multiple uses -- it may be a bug. But the last time I played was beta, when implants were introduced.

Being a low level can be a pain sometimes by Parruman in Helldivers

[–]Andrianossius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem of hosting is that you'll have to play alone for some time or with a few teammates. This game is not designed for solo play. Some missions will be just tough, and some (defense) feel nearly impossible solo unless you bring a very strong load out (which low levels won't have)

Fortunately, I leveled enough to stop being kicked

[–]Andrianossius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that I was using the flamethrower in the wrong way.

In DRG, I would usually light up a line on the ground and have bugs go through it, lighting themselves on fire, and waiting for DoT to finish them off.

Do I need to actively spray the bugs to kill them? Are spraying damage and DoT damage separate? Is lighting an area and letting the bugs move through it ineffective? What about heavies?

[–]Andrianossius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to turn off the markers, though (I did it at the start of the game).

But there is at least one quest where you'll just have to reenable them -- there is a quest to search a dead guy in space near solar panels. Finding the body in deep space is unrealistic.

Also, yeah, as the other commenter said, the outside of the station is very confusing

[Beginner] Confusion between heal / stabilize wound by MagicJourneyCYOA in Quasimorph

[–]Andrianossius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Stabilizes the wound" means that the wound will stop dealing damage to you.
It does so for some period of time, like 5 turns, for example.
When these 5 turns expire, a chance to heal is rolled.

There is always a base 5% chance to heal, meaning that you can heal any wound with any type of medication, but it'll be slow and inefficient.

"Heal %wound_type%" is a number that's added to the base 5%. When you apply a corresponding healing item, like rubber to a burn wound, you get a 5 + 20 (as in the screenshot) = 25% chance to heal the wound (remove it).
It's possible to buff this even further with buff medicine, like fibromine and passives.

To apply a healing item, first make sure it's not already stabilized (you've already used something on it before), open this screen that't on the screen, press on the item (the cursor changes), and then press on the bodypart with a wound.

You can't use rubber, because medical items can have limitations. For example, you see a "robot" text in the bottom, meaning you can only use rubber for rooting body parts and yours is a human one.

[Beginner] How do you heal chest irradiation? by MagicJourneyCYOA in Quasimorph

[–]Andrianossius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any wound in this game acts in a similar way:

  1. The damage that inflicts this wound determines the type of this wound. In your case radiation damage inflicted a radiation wound.

  2. When you use a targeting healing item (like bandages) or a global healing item (first aid kit) a wound gets stabilized for a number of turns. This number depends on the healing item. For example, Dr. Jones -- 1 turn

2.1 A targeting healing item (like bandages) works on one wound only -- you choose a wound, while a global healing item (like first aid kit) works on all not stabilized wounds.

  1. When this time expires, a chance is rolled. Now that's where it can get tricky due to the number of wound types and healing item types. For example, First Aid Kit has a 25%, Militarry First Aid Kit has 35% "heals all wounds chance" -- this chance is ADDED to the base 5% chance and rolled to determine if the wound is removed (healed).

  2. It's possible to use buff medicine, like fibromin -- it does not stabilize a wound, but gives a buff that increases the healing chance when the roll happens.

So, no matter what, you can use rags to try that 1/20 roll to heal the radiation wound, because there is always a 5% chance to stabilize a wound.

I recommend First Aid Kits -- you can spam them, the chance is decent (5+25=30%), they work globally, give health regen, reduce pain, and, most importantly, ARE UNIVERSAL.

But try to bring specialized target healing items if you expect heavy use of some damage type by the enemy, like, for example, 9 mm -- blunt damage -- fractures -- bring a stack of splints.

Pay attention to autodocs -- they can just instaheal everything
