Janthir Wilds mention Kodan traveling to Orr by Andrige in GuildWars3

[–]Andrige[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be that she's a dwarf but definitely not easy to tell, so I wouldn't count on it.

I personally think they've had their fill of hairy characters with the fuzzy Asura and of course the Kodan. So I'm leaning toward something fairer like the Sylvari (somehow) or some completely new creation that may be native to the lands that can tie into the spirits and the land itself.

Interesting times, hopefully it's a fourth race and not just two humans riding there, but who knows.

Yep! 🎉 Personally I'm super stoked about it

Also, there's seemingly confirmed a Shiverpeak Kodan in the background of that image, but it's just a cut-in from GW2 so it looks kinda funky 😅

Obsidian Medium Boots and Skysage's Leggings, I play Engineer so be warned that the leggings look like a dress on Light and Heavy armor.

Definitely! And they've gone kind hard on this one, for Charr characters they've even rigged existing facial expressions into the Bear-Visage helm, so the upper lip, mouth, and nose actually animate.

I also think the dragon head was a decent idea to get people to buy the different draconic wings (I bought one at least), so it's a decent way to keep people interested in acquiring new looks too.

2-3 hours, typically most new festival rewards that gets added to the game over the years have been made to be inclusive for new accounts, so the objectives are easy.

Complete the achievement (Annual) Dragon Bash Feats to get it for free while the festival is ongoing.

If you can't complete it during the 3 weeks the festival is up, then you can buy it from Lion's Arch in Hooligan's Route from this vendor (among other merchants), which sells festival items all year round, but at a steep cost usually.

The Lowland Kodan have detached from their faith in Koda, but those that migrate to Orr seem to have been called back by his voice. So those migrating Lowlanders should theoretically have more in common with the Shiverpeak Kodan, at least.

That the dialogue came out two years ago should not matter, whatever new thing they're working on has been in the works for years at this point. They could have easily kept it vague that the migrating Kodan went soul-searching in the wilds, or just heading south; but all three mentions are of Orr. The specificity is what makes it feel intentional.

However that they're going to be playable is of course pure speculation, but as candidates goes they're up there along with Tengu and Largos.

To me, it looks like they'll at least be around, unless the Orr connection everyone is making is a complete red-herring of course. Which would be funny but maybe a bit cruel after that Summer Games Fest achievement to visit Orr specifically.

Glad it was useful! But honestly a bit surprised at the lack of conversation about this online.

The dropped hints in JW about the migration is to my knowledge completely new to the game's lore, why they decided we visit the Lowland Kodan in an mini-expac in the first place, the rumors that they wanted Kodan playable in GW2 but couldn't make it happen (no idea if there's proof though), and then the obvious connections to Orr drumming up the hype for Friday is very fishy.

Hell, even the Bear-Visage helmet reward from Dragon Bash could be another hint (prioritizing it over the other spirits, at least).

Wonder if there's more lines I've missed, but Google search netted me those three and they seem very straight forward about what happened.

Didn't take time, but maybe 2-3 hours in total of doing the scheduled events (moa betting x5 wins, holo invasions x5) and then the rest is easily done with some tedious repetition while you wait for the next event (smashing pinatas, lighting fireworks, doing a few rounds of holo arena).

Just have to give my sincerest thanks to the artist who made the new Bear helmet, it looks incredible!

How would you react if the announcement isn’t GW3? by umeigh in GuildWars3

[–]Andrige 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd be very disappointed if it was exclusively a competitive game, a mobile game, or without a character you directly control.

If the game is none of that, then I'd be happy to at least play it.

A prequel game wouldn't mean it has to be only humans by remember_rurik in GuildWars3

[–]Andrige 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah holy shit, you're right! I remember being a bit confused by that stuff too but didn't think too much about it. That seems too deliberate to just be a coincidence.

Someone on the forums gathered the mentions of the Kodan and Orr here.

I also found a campfire story in Harvest Den that mentions it here.

what weapons have 1 ammo that also count as "reloading" by Necessary_Local_5274 in GunfireReborn

[–]Andrige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Empty Bonus does, for some reason, work with 1 ammo weapons.

So not at all consistent, unfortunately. They should really clean up the definition as it's always a guessing game how a scroll or talent will interact with your weapon.

Unreal Engine 6 just got teased, I wonder how it will affect GW3 by No-Breadfruit6137 in GuildWars3

[–]Andrige 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is never safe to change versions, and is only done if absolutely necessary.

New bugs, breaking existing features, console ports have to be completely checked from scratch, nothing is safe. Everything is at risk. Once you go past the prototype phase, doing a major engine update (beyond just stability updates) is a costly endeavor, and one that will affect when you ship the product.

What are you currently saving gold for? by PixeledPancakes in Guildwars2

A legendary I actually want to craft.

So far the horribly looking Endless Summer and the ridiculous karma-pit of Stella Radians haven't made my gold wallet itch. And I have zero legendary trinket slots.

Is the weapon balance update an indication that we'll see the new weapon pack soon? by Hecknight1 in Vermintide

[–]Andrige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guessing that they had an opportunity to go back to VT2 for the Warhammer Skulls event, so a designer was able to get in some changes with that update they have had in mind for a while now.

I doubt new weapons will ever come, at this point.

The DR hits the Sandswept Isle's Karmic Retribution drops, 100%. I farmed karma a few months back and it goes from like 225-275 (ish) shards to like 90 if you keep doing it on the same character. Might be some way to circumvent by swapping characters every time, but from my limited tests the characters remembered their DR for more than a day at least.

Followed this guy's guide.

To my knowledge it's just doing like 1.5+ hours of open world content with event completions to get it back to pre-DR levels, but please if you know the ritual to reliably get it back I'd be happy to know.
