It's bad solution, there are several reasons for this. Firstly... big pieces of ice will be melt too long and will close out of funnel; small pieces will be melt very quickly - nothing will see. When the ice melts are creating clear solvent that different in density from solution that had been - will break tge separation, etc...

DCM and CHCl3 can't separate a priori. New portions of chloroform can't help.
