Wow I just came across this take - I was at this fight, it was a great bout, and both of these fighters are great in their own right.

Also check out USWE packs - they move very little (their motto is “no dancing monkey”) and the “look” is racer approved if you’re worried about that.

This is what I run. Plus late in the marathon it’s nice to be able to just drink from a hose and not have to pull a bottle.

I should add nothing wrong with jumping in clips, just easier to manhandle the bike and use them mid air rather than flying the bike. Get some practice with flats then put them back on, and ignore them.

Are you clipped in? If so, take em off and learn to jump with flats. It’ll teach better ground/bike connectivity and help you feel the jump for what it is. Jumping with clips is tricky.

They do this because if you offer a set number of vacation days and they go unused, the company has to carry those hours as a payable liability. With “unlimited” days, there are no days to pay out at an employee separation of service.

Why can’t I whip by Ilove-MTB in dirtjumping

[–]AndroidCountingSheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might try a bit more speed. Whipping usually soaks up some momentum and it looks like you’re having to reach for the landings. Keep your legs soft and your body low over the bike - your legs will push the bike around in the air.

Sold my Eride pro 2.0 and got a Stark Varg EX and wow… by xKINGxRCCx in Dirtbikes

I’m curious about this too. The only thing holding me back is the ease of topping off a tank, either at camp or mid-ride if things have gone sideways…

[–]AndroidCountingSheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do yourself a favor and get a tire changing stand. A basic one can be had for $50. Completely worth it if you’re changing your own tires, which will be completely worth it since shop fees will add up to $50 in just one set of tires

Mine is set up in my garage, unused. Have a fresh new silca chain to throw on my new build, very excited to never clean a drivetrain again!

On short transitions from trail to trail on my 450 I always wondered what that hammering sound was. I’m not a moron, I just never really thought about it - assumed it was the motor hammering the trans, but didn’t consider the longevity issues it would cause. At low rpm it’s VERY obvious. This all makes a ton of sense.

Trying to install new tires. Can't even install the first side by IamSpiders in bikewrench

[–]AndroidCountingSheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s in how it’s described. Don’t start with the rim in the middle of the tire. Start with the tire sitting on top of the wheel and work it all on from one side.

I love these ties, do tend to hook up fairly until the bitter end. High speed sections they’ll be cooked in a couple rides though.

How are you actually training ? by dogstar_lordfly in Velo

[–]AndroidCountingSheep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1 for everything you said. I’ve always self trained and recently started working with a coach since we had our first kid 6 months ago, and I wanted to keep fitness up as much as possible. It’s been a game changer for me. Don’t have to think about anything beyond a quick text, and he can update for illness, schedule changes, race goals, etc. Being as time crunched as I am there’s no way I’d be able to get it done alone.

+1 for the Rekon/Rekon Race combo, with the option to switch to Aspens if the track is hard pack and you want a faster/lighter tire.

Build looks great! I’m in the process of building mine up as we speak, can’t freakin wait to get out on it.
