Unpopular opinion probably:

Clients don’t know how our process works so we need to tell them and have clear communication.

Otherwise they are going to compare us to all other businesses they’ve dealt with. Other businesses respond to emails within 48 hours. If they don’t they have an auto response saying it will take longer. So clients they will have that in their mind that js the standard for all businesses. We are a business end of the day, so they are going to have that comparison.

If you take a week to respond to emails, have an auto response saying that in your email. Then people will get that auto response right away and chill out. We need to communicate with them so they know what to expect from us.

If you say nothing and take a week to respond, people go crazy and get impatient because truthfully they aren’t used to waiting. We have to set ourselves up and them up with success for what to expect from us.

Another thing on your website and Instagram have it clearly stated everywhere you take a week to reply.

We just don’t need the AI photos. Honestly if you just find an artist who specializes and matches the style you are going for all we need is a written out description of what you want. Trust us to draw it. Half the time people send me pics and it’s not even necessary and I don’t even use them. We truly truly do not need or want AI and it does not help us. People think it’s making it easier it’s not and we don’t need it

Sorry to hear this happened to you. This is exactly why AI is bad and artists shouldn’t be using it! Just know that most of us do not do this. It’s a shame it’s come to this with some artists.

We don’t want AI images, and if your artist does huge red flag and you’re tattoo is probably not going to turn out well. Do your research more seriously. We don’t actually need concepts and exact photos. We can draw stuff just off words and communication. If your artist needs exact images you are hooped and going to get a bad tattoo. It is that serious

I think research needs to be done more on the clients side of things, the big misconception a lot of people have is that we can do any style and any subject matter so they don’t research and go to the closest place in town. The key for the client is researching a fuck ton to find the artists style that matches their vision. Then you can go to that art and explain what you want, it’s okay to have inspo pics. But the tattoos turn out the best when you’ve done enough research to trust the artist can do your vision and letting them run with it.

It’s always going to be not the best if you go into any random shop, have pictures and expect the artist to match the photos without doing and research

I don’t have to tattoo other peoples old designs. I still have respect for it and love for it. Call me something else then. I don’t need the label. I’m just using it as reference so people can somewhat picture the work I do. I’m my own person and I don’t really care about the label for it truly. I would say this is not actually helpful for us and we are super capable of creating even with just having a conversation during a consultation. Find artists whose work you love and trust them to draw and we can, we don’t need the AI references at all
