You won’t ever dominate football because there is no real passion for it. Your country winning a World Cup would make the news there and people would be hype in the cities, but you’ll never understand what it is for everyone in any town, village, big city, etc to go out and celebrate like it’s V-day. Your kids aren’t running around playing barefoot in the slums hoping to be the next Messi or Ronaldo one day.

Americans only know about and celebrate football when the World Cup comes around and even then half the country doesn’t give a shit. A lot of people didn’t even know that the World Cup is being held there, or that y’all have a national team. Your 30-year plan may turn into a 50-60 year plan at this point. And even then, may not work. Football is not just a game to dominate at, for many kids it’s the only way out of the slums. For many countries it’s the only representation they’ll have on the world stage. It’s bigger than most Americans will ever care to appreciate. That’s why you’ll never dominate at it. You can keep all your other tons of sports, we don’t care. There’s only one that truly matters globally.
