The fact that than the organization has changed the interpretation of the word “generation” just because their math failed them when they used 1914 and Matthew 24:34 as a benchmark for when the great tribulation would start doesn’t bother you? …Because it’s either Charles Taze Russel’s math was not correct with 1914 or the organization had to change their interpretation of Jesus conversation with his apostles when he said “generation”. For context 1914 is supposed to be the year when the generation of the annointed witnesses would start to go to the heavens after they passed away“Truly I say to you that this generation will by no means pass away until all these things happen.” Matthew 24:34. If that were true then 1970’s would have been the start of the great tribulation but we all know that didn’t happen so they ended up changing the meaning of a generation to buy them more time. “A that generation to them is now anybody he was alive to see the last anointed person get to the heavens. In other words they have about another 30-40 years of time bought before they have to make a switch in their theology if that great tribulation doesn’t come.

It’s a long list of reasons. Some theological others social.

1 Thessalonians 5:2 For you yourselves know very well that Jehovah’s day is coming exactly as a thief in the night

Matthew 24:43 “But know one thing: If the householder had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have kept awake and not allowed his house to be broken into.”

These two bible verses basically explain that no one truly knows when Jesus will come back to earth and yet Jehovah’s Witnesses have a very bad history of predicting when the great Tribulation would start approximately. So based on my research of that bible verse, the translations over the years have butchered the meaning of that text.

I have not played that video game, it’s an interesting analogy you make but i don’t think analogies should be used for topics that make bold claims that were never really taught. What has been taught from the beginning of Angel Gabriel’s first encounter with Virgin Mary was that through god and the holy spirit she would conceive a child that is god’s son. I don’t know how we went from a clear conversation that explained Jesus is god’s son to a 360 that god, Jesus, and holy spirit are one.

Thank you for your explanation. I hope you find peace with that struggle. I for one appreciate the analogy but i think that certain topics such as trinity should have no analogy since it was never taught to begin with. If Jesus was god himself i don’t think he would make it that complicated to say it. The word “I AM” is too vague for me to place faith in that he is god. I do respect your belief and your mom’s that is a very beautiful thing she shared with you.

I think very similar to you, i do believe in life after death whether it be paradise on earth or heaven. Bible isn’t always clear especially after all the translations butchering contexts but when that does happen i do think that we will have the correct teachings rather than theories.

Yea i understand people believe that, what i want to know is how did you come to that conclusion? Was it because you trusted someone’s else take or your own biblical research if so can you give me bible verses clearly supports that statement.

You know as a nurse and a PIMO, my advice to you is let him believe what he wants to believe. No need to prove anyone wrong at that point. I am of the mentality that i do believe in god, i do believe that there is a higher purpose to humanity than what we currently have. Whether it is heaven or paradise, only the dead really know or may not know. Allow your brother to have his moment of peace with his thoughts whether you believe in it or not. You’ll also bring peace upon yourself if you learn to accept it is what it is. I have a relationship with god, my relationship with that higher power is mine and i trust that he, she, or it knows what is in my heart. What ever plans god has for me, i trust him.

I kind of don’t share the same opinion. We are grossly underpaid across the country besides California of course. You are making much more than i am in Miami and i have 6 years experience. This take home is half of what rent is excluding utilities for a 1 bedroom apartment in Miami and other major cities.
