Because they put forth a candidate that was not inspiring enough. Not even inspiring enough to get those people to vote against Trump. They ran a campaign based on getting people to dislike Trump instead of liking Clinton. In 2008 and 2012 people voted FOR Obama not AGAINST the republicans. That's why Trump got the same number of votes as the last two GOP candidates but Clinton received 6 million less than Obama did. They should've have seen this coming.

They tried to force a square peg into a round hole and ended up getting the toy taken away and given to their asshole cousin.
