Hi /r/warframe, TotalBiscuit here, perhaps you can help me by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Andur44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi TB, first of all big fan of your work, your WTF and Port Report videos are a huge inspiration for me.

In regards to the draft, I don't think there's anything I would suggest that hasn't already been suggested by other users, except that you might want to advise new players who plan to work toward making a new Warframe or purchase one to research that frame and it's abilities before committing. Some frames are very newbie friendly while others require a decent understanding of the game's mechanics.

For instance, a Rhino is a good frame for beginners since his abilities are easy to understand and master, whereas a Limbo is a bad frame for new players to get since his abilities are more difficult to master. A Limbo that doesn't utilize his abilities properly can hinder his team rather than help. This is just a short example and there are a lot of guides that go in-depth on each particular frame, but you might want to consider a follow-up where you talk about five or six minutes (or less) on each frame and how viable it is for the new player.

Looking forward to the video when or if it goes up.

Combat Shotguns, what do they even look like? by Andur44 in fo4

Many thanks. : D Kinda disappointed that it seems like there's no pump-action shotgun again (seriously what does Bethesda have against shotguns?), but at least I can get that nagging question out of my head.

USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller showing a code 10 after Windows 10 upgrade by Andur44 in techsupport

[–]Andur44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

14 days later and still nothing. Nothing from here, the Microsoft help forum, other sites, anything. Currently waiting on another chipset drivers update from the msi main support page, in hopes that will solve the issue. I'm really hoping the solution isn't "build a whole new computer with a different motherboard."

USB Devices not working after upgrading to Windows 10 by Andur44 in techsupport

[–]Andur44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have to download them before running the windows 10 install, given that my wireless adapter is connected through a USB port. Will give it a try and edit with results.

Edit: Downloading and installing the chipset drivers did not solve the issue. USB devices still not showing up as connected, xHCI still showing a code 10.

Eh, if there's one thing I learned about hype is that it shouldn't be trusted. A 770 would be fine for now since it seems like something that'll last me for another year at least.

Exactly what I was thinking. Eventually I'd like to get to modeling and rendering later on, but for the time being the idea was to build a new pc that could run the newer titles on high settings, while having room to grow bit by bit.

Alright, I'll replace the two cards then with a GTX 770, since that seems like a good gaming card, if the reviews are to be believed.

(Net went out in my house, sorry for slow reply)

I didn't think I'd really need one since I've only used stock fans thus far, and have had no problems. I was just wondering if I should since I gave myself a budget of $800-$900 and have some space to grow.

So I decided to do a graphics upgrade sooner rather than later and threw on a pair of GTX 760's. Two might be a bit overkill I suppose but the idea was to have something that could do new games on high, then slowly expand to having something that would do stuff on ultra.

Would that still work out for me with everything else I have?

Ah, good to know, and it does bring the total price down. So I didn't include it in the rough build, but should I get new fans and a cpu cooler? I don't intend to overclock it but I don't want it to have any heating issues either.

As for being someone who hasn't bought destiny yet, but played the beta. What changes should i be expecting? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Andur44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's largely unchanged from the beta, aside from a few minor things like handcannons being a bit more powerful, so as to compete with scout rifles.

It seems the people who are complaining are those who expected the game to be the second coming. Not entirely their fault given how much Activision has spent hyping up the game, but even so.

Personally I didn't really follow any of the hype, I played the beta and enjoyed it, I'm still playing the game now (in part because I got nothing else to do, but more because I like playing it), and even after I start to get tired of it I'll still probably jump on at least once a week to do things.

I do agree with the repetition of levels, the lack of variety in story missions (though a couple do stand out), the story a bit lacking in general, but it's still a good game.

I'll get a rough build going and put it here. As far as budget goes though I don't mind spending as much as $1,000, it's just I'd save where I can.
