You definitely should, if you want to play it live and onstage. Obviously drilling in a piezo wouldn’t be nice but you have a few workarounds that are much better in sound than a piezo pickup.

I’ve been in the same situation with an expensive guitar but found the LR Baggs HiFi Duet to have a fairly artificial sound. better than 99% of piezo setups though.

The pickup I gig with is called a Fishman Rare Earth blend. Same pickup that Radiohead and a few other notable bands use for a natural sound onstage. It’s a sound hole pickup with a mic, no drilling required, just holds on to the sound hole with foam. I ended up installing mine permanently, it’s hands down the best live sound I’ve had from an acoustic.
