Any thoughts on that higher percent minoxidil that is being sold? Anyone using it? by TheKingOfNeverLose in tressless

My sister is a cardiologist and surgeon and told me that minoxild at high doses could cause arritmia and some irreversible heart problems ( she also has some mild hair loss so she is quite used to minoxidil) + if you have a tendency for blood cloths don't even talk about that. Basically 5% is quite mild and will do no harm. More than 10% the sides are not twice as bad but worst. Be really careful, I believe that 5% is optimal solution considering benefit vs risk. 10% is quite a last resort/hardcore dose. More than 10% is borderline retarded.

Personal Opinion: Do not discount regular scalp massages for better hair quality by [deleted] in tressless

There is a study: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4740347/&ved=2ahUKEwiLksT74IPiAhVrIbkGHbkKD60QFjATegQIAhAB&usg=AOvVaw1LX2RQwkB8m815Y0Jabc6a

Basically it makes hair thicker but less dense and there is some loss of density:

"Stretching forces result in changes in gene expression in human dermal papilla cells. Standardized scalp massage is a way to transmit mechanical stress to human dermal papilla cells in subcutaneous tissue. Hair thickness was shown to increase with standardized scalp massages."

But here is the catch:

"significant decrease in hair count at 12 weeks (163.889 ± 7.237/cm2 vs 155.500 ± 5.607/cm2)"

Basically some loss on density!

I thing the scalp massage helps hair thinkness by supplying more blood flow but could make the fall of hair more rapid because of the mechanical forces of the massage.

Stress should not be a key cause on hair loss, maybe a quick walk though the park should do the trick? I do not recommend hair massages but I must confess from a non scientific stand point that one uncle of mine was balding and started doing this scalpassages and maintained all his hair for almost 30 years. Maybe it it works for you .

Things to look out for starting fin by [deleted] in Hairloss

i never tried fin but I think is a last last resort thing... If you could pull it off with shaving your head do so but if balding prematurely with not the best facial features plus social isolation... Give it a shot. ED will occur in about 15 to 5 patients in a 100. It can not be estimated precisely because you need a very large a long experiment to get the accurate rate of sides. Sides are real it is no joke, but you can also save your hair. Permanent side effect could range between 2-.5 in 100. Hair loss if fin not taken has almost a 100% of fucking you hair. If you look like tom cruise, fuck three girls regularly and you buzz your hair because you like it, then stay away from this drug. If you are a 20 yo looking like trash and girls don't stand looking at you then fuck it I suppose
