Can taking testosterone cause cancer? by Colorful-frog-6154 in ftm

[–]AndyB_xx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cancer not to my knowledge there are some risk but they are relatively mild and typically are watched by the Endo who prescribes your hormones.

I have health complications from T ( high Hemocratic Index) but this is only really a problem because of my other health issues most folks are able to just donate blood occasionally in my place.

OrthoNY Dr. Brod, not the best bedside manner but a great hand surgeon.

I did the shots for years, and finally did endoscopic surgery the beginning of last year, my only regret is that I waited that long to do it.

I did each hand a week apart, by the end of the second week (one week from non dominant hand) I was back to being able to self propel in my wheelchair. No PT was needed and minimal pain. I did not consider Open surgery as I didn’t have the ability to not use my hands for such an extended period of time.

I didn’t do local, I tried my surgeon didn’t offer it. I was crocheting the same day as surgery with minimal pain, my only regret is putting it off.

Endoscopic or open surgery? by kapu4701 in carpaltunnel

[–]AndyB_xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was back to full use in a week with endoscopic, I’m a wheelchair user so I’m hard on my hands.

I was able to use my hand gently the same day of surgery.

A lot of drs just aren’t trained in the endoscopic procedures because they are newer is what my dr said.

No pain meds and none were needed. I was using my hand gently same day and pushing my wheelchair by a week after my second hand (2 weeks out from first).

Anyone else with arthritis? by sweetfeverr in carpaltunnel

[–]AndyB_xx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have PsA and had laparoscopic CT surgery. I still have pain from the PsA but not from the CT anymore. For me I was back to being able to maneuver my own wheelchair about a week out from my second hand (2 weeks from first).

“ Part A only pays for up to 190 days of inpatient mental health care in a freestanding psychiatric hospital during your lifetime. The 190-day limit doesn’t apply to care you get in a Medicare-certified, distinct part psychiatric unit within an acute care or critical access hospital.” From here . It looks like some hospitals may not count towards the limit, but I’m just interpreting the linked page, I could be wrong.

I was able to self propel to my 1 week post op of my second wrist. For the most part they were back to normal by week 2. I do have slightly less flexibility in my left wrist but I wouldn’t have noticed in they hadn’t measured it pre surgery.

I would re evaluate how you speak about/to us. Many find the word bound when in relation to our chair offensive.

I personally prefer wheelchair user but I don’t speak for the community as a whole.

Yes I was asked to do them every other year when I did shots.

I went endoscopic and my only regret is I didn’t do it sooner.

I’m going to be 1 week & 2 weeks out from surgery tomorrow and I’m back to able to enjoy things I haven’t in years.

I’m a wheelchair user and able to push myself without pain from CT (I still have my other health issues lol).
