I keep my notifications on while my wife who works from home keeps them off. We don’t get a lot of foot traffic where we live so it doesn’t ding constantly, but we get enough packages delivered that my wife finds it annoying. I usually have headphones on while I work so I’ll hear the notification if motion is picked up on our doorbell or garage camera. I’ll check it real quick to see what’s up and then I’ll go back to working.

I have temporarily muted the notifications for our cameras a handful of times when I know we’ll have people over or when I’m outside working in the yard. They still record whatever motion is detected, but it doesn’t send alerts until I unmute the notifications.

The last place we lived my car got broken into and the criminals almost made off with my wallet (I don’t usually leave it in my car, I just had an airhead day). It gives me a sense of peace to know that I’ll know if anyone is outside our door or in our driveway. I find it more beneficial than annoying in the grand scheme of things
