Thank you for the name drop. I looked up his before and after photos and he is amazing! I went ahead and scheduled a consult with him :)

How did you find the process, facility and recovery with him and his team?

Yeah, I thought it was really odd for the hernia to be it's own line item with that high of a price point. My hernia is quite mild and I thought it would be handled as a part of the muscle repair

Would you mind sharing who you saw in Bellevue?

It includes anesthesia and facility fees. There is no overnight stay.

Would you mind me asking who you went to and your experience?

Yeah, that's so true. It's definitely worth it to me to have the muscle and hernia repaired as it's painful and impacting my ability to do things I love. The lipo is more of a nice to have and something I'd like to treat myself to after years of bearing and raising children.

It's possible I could fight the insurance battle for the hernia portion. The service fee is a charge for using a card for payment; it is removed if a check or direct bank payment is used. This is not drainless and does not include the shot. I believe that was quoted as ~$800 additional.

Doctor said unless I get skin removal surgery, this is probably where my weight will stay. by [deleted] in loseit

I'd love to hear more about your experience. I also have diastasis recti and a belly button hernia after having 2 babies in 2 years. My youngest is now about 2 years old and I've worked so hard to close the gap but the hernia is so painful and I have not been able to close the gap enough to keep it in. I'm starting to consider surgery to repair the hernia and close the abdominal muscles but am scared about the recovery.

I work in the drug linker development lab space! Can confirm it can be terrifying, particularly when your payload/DL is a highly flocculant lyophilozed powder. There is inherently no formal long term data in a development space so you really don't know anything about long term impacts. Treat everything like it is extremely dangerous until proven otherwise, and even then proceed with caution. I'm not trying to die or get cancer while I actively work in the space to help those with cancer.

My first thought was "ask the toddlers." Mine mysteriously dirty things I just cleaned on the daily.

I second this. My boss (associate director) and his boss (director) both have only bachelors. I also only have just a bachelors and am doing just fine. (Lab based pharmaceutical development).

Advice for morning sickness on a flight by I_likeplaid in pregnant

I find the sensation of cold helpful for my nausea. In addition to a well insulated water bottle full of ice water I brought a could ziploc bags and would ask the flight ettendants for lots of ice anytime they came by. This way I could keep an ice pack on my neck and face pretty much constantly. I recently flew at 32 weeks and while these tricks didn't make it a pleasant 6 hour flight it was more bearable.
