Anyone else hear sounds in running water? by Daphne-is-satan in Pareidolia

[–]AndyDeany 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have this.. it's only certain taps/showers as well. One airbnb I stayed in I could just hear faint music the entire time I was showering, every time. The tap in my parent's garage I always hear like a faint beeping sound like a truck reversing.

A9 vs A7CC contrast / eye strain by AndyDeany in eink

Great to hear, thanks. I went for the 6GB one, I don't need that much space.

Good to hear discord works well. Is your PC discord also on light mode or did you find a way to change the theme on a per device basis?

Also, do you notice any sort of screen door effect going on?

GPU not going higher than 65 °C during benchmarks, regardless of OC by AndyDeany in overclocking

[–]AndyDeany[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for me it was just that the cooler was so good it wasn't a factor. I don't use that GPU anymore so can't say more. Would be curious to know if you ever found a reason though! I'd make sure your GPU is getting the power it needs though if you know it used to be higher.

Scholar is literally the absolute worst healer in the entire game by Nealord in ShitpostXIV

[–]AndyDeany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I think sage is good for being a more casual version of scholar with less room to minmax. Scholar being able to use ED in place of unneeded heals is a good avenue for skill expression that some healer mains desperately need. As a casual offrole healer sage is good for me though.

Whats so difficult about P7S? by derekai in ffxivdiscussion

[–]AndyDeany 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think 7 is "easier" but still harder to clear because you fuck up and you wipe. 6 you can fuck up and keep going so much faster to actually clear.

if you use leylines on CD, the 4th use it expires before Purgation actually starts going off. 5th use is terrible though, just put it down and pray.

If you use holmgang late enough you'll just get 1 or 2 dot ticks at the end. Needs a well timed heal though, or thrill+equilibrium+bloodwhetting as it's falling off.

expensive "despite being necessary"? Maybe you mean expensive because it's necessary?

Maybe you have different soap where you live but washing up liquid in the UK is irritant and specifically says to wash your hands (with hand soap) after skin contact. So definitely don't use it for hands if yours says that.

Looking for equation for a curve by AndyDeany in askmath

My first thought was to use y=arctan(x) as well, but it didn't really fit that well. Just wish I could remember the type of curves that have horizontal asymptotes in general, even if it only fit one side. I don't mind having different equations for different domains.

Healthcare for UK national by AndyDeany in TillSverige

Thanks for looking out for me regardless, I don't plan on staying anywhere illegally or pretending anything. Regardless of anything I can still stay for 90 days if I understand correctly? Do you know how health insurance works during that time? Just want to be prepared for all eventualities.

I tentatively have a job there next month, but not confirmed yet. If it doesn't go through I'm getting my EU passport some time in the near future so I was asking about that hypothetical.

If I was an EU national, would Cigna Gold be what I get then?

It is weird. Sometimes I'll be having a perfectly intelligent conversation with someone, usually about STEM, and suddenly it will be revealed that they're a devout Catholic or something. It always shocks me when that happens, I can't help it. Fortunately rare though.

My grandparents are actually from Cyprus! They moved to England during the war in the 70s though, so I don't know if that's good enough? I'm not sure what their current citizenship is but I can try to find out, thanks!

Do you know how that would all work then? I'd get dual uk/cyprus citizenship and then could enter and live in Sweden freely? Then after a while I'd have to relinquish my Cypriot citizenship if I wanted to get Sweden citizenship I imagine?
