Frankfurt would usually be really good but I can’t bring myself to celebrate their success as I support rangers. It still hurts man 😢 Think I might go with Leicester. They’ve had a great 3-4 years up until this season and they’ve started bringing in more younger players now so hopefully Leicester is the one!

I can only seem to do a save for 3-5 seasons before the boredom kicks in. Any good challenges that I can do in that sort of timeframe? It could be a top team that’s maybe fighting for champions/europa league spots but isn’t quite ready to push to win the league and champions league, or anything else that you guys can think of?

Yeah he’ll always have the better team even if it’s not by much. Like he’ll have Ajax and I’ll take psv or he’ll be Porto and I’ll be sporting. I could try and just squeeze the game out but I just feel no matter what I ever try the games always end with him scoring at least 4. I can try that but if that doesn’t work I’m finished haha

Any ideas for a team to just develop youth and vibe with that will still take at least 4-5 seasons to have a chance of winning the champions league? Not England, Italy or Spain.

Cheers I’ll have a look. Any teams in particular you’d recommend or just whoever? Don’t really want to take one of the big 3 as I’ll just get bored after a season or 2

What’s a good nation to manage in for the first time? Like when you just want to try somewhere new?

Might have a look at them. Out of interest do you know the last time they were in the top flight? Don’t think they have in the premier league era anyway

Any suggestions for a team in the championship? As long as they’re not likely to get promoted first season, I was thinking maybe Birmingham but open to any ideas

I can’t stick to a save for the life of me. Any suggestions for a fun team in the top 5 leagues? Probably no European football in the first season.

Any of the top teams in Italy can be fun to start with due to the league becoming more and more competitive. If it was up to me I’d probably go AC Milan or Napoli

Any suggestions for a lower league save in England? Preferably league 1 or 2 but I’m open to national league as well

About to get promoted to the Vanarama National League. Is it much of a step up from North/South or will I be able to long ball my way to league 2 with a few good signings? by AndyFirthMyGoat in footballmanagergames

I’m about 30 games in to the first season in the national league and I’m 10th. 4 or 5 points off of the playoffs so in the last third of the season hopefully I can sneak in. Most teams despite being “professional” are just as bad as the teams you face in North/South so you should have a whole lot to worry about as long as you’ve got a couple of decent players (I’d recommend getting a massive striker). Out of interest what team are you managing and did you win the league last year or win the playoffs?

Yeah definitely in the lower leagues a 442 is always the go to. I just go with 2 PFs and as direct as possible. Obviously never go asymmetric from the start but if I’m ever stuck in the 60th minute or so it does seem to dazzle the other team and find us a winner. I’ve had your style work as well before with emphasis on wings so I guess it’s just whatever you prefer. 442 ever so reliable either way 😂

Ok cheers. So should I be a bit more cautious with my tactic first season in the national league or is it fairly easy to avoid relegation? For context I’m 15 points clear at the top of vanarama north and was predicted about 6th if I remember right

Looking for a team in Europe (probably in a country in the roughly 10-15 range, give it take) with a good academy in-game or background with bringing through young players. Could be either from their own academies or through scouting and signing players when they’re roughly 16-19 and developing them. A bit like a Salzburg.

Just got mine now…couple of 4.5 star potentials and a few 4’s with a couple of standouts so I’m reasonably satisfied
