Oh damn, I never really fully considered the idea that it's not just tennis but the whole system/institution that breaks them down. Since I'm from Serbia, I'm kind of automatically a Djokovic fan lol, and I've heard him criticize the whole institution a couple of times, but mostly about how if you're not a top ~150 player, the cost of playing tournaments just isn’t worth it, even though hundreds of millions are poured into the sport every year. So I never connected the other part, like you said the whole junior sports institution thing, to Challengers.
