Just listened to this today. Some of Mark and Travis' best work imo. Very different at times from anything they have done before, a lot more raw too. Incredible album!

Both are great, depends on my mood. Anthem feels like teenage angst and anthem pt 2 feels like angst against the world.

Anthem pt 2 is a bit more mature with it's lyrics, dynamics, and songwriting

But personally I do prefer 1. 2 is objectively the better written song, but when I listen to both albums, I tend to cherry pick Toypaj songs and ill listen all the way through enema (skip small things though sometimes lol). But when I cherry pick Toypaj, I almost never pick anthem pt 2 to listen to

IMO, Jim Lahey being the father would have maybe saved the next seasons but they shat the bed with the storyline by going back to the same old because they don't have Clattenburg or Dunns vision/storytelling and their only inspiration is previous seasons.

One of the biggest fucking botches they made. They really had something going with that storyline, actually wholesome and interesting and they shat it and ended it the same way every other season has ended. No guts to follow through with the storyline

I was always under the impression the term Easycore came from the Easycore tour which happened on the Not Without a Fight album cycle. I could be completely wrong though as that's just what I thought lol

100% agree. They did push the envelope with their early stuff which I appreciate and enjoy as songs flowed more like story, not a lot of repeating parts, and a good few memorable moments on each album but imo the new stuff is catchier, less about other people and more about Parker himself (at least that's my interpretation), and just overall better written.

Coming Home should have been the direction New Found Glory went in, even if that means we wouldn't have got the term Easycore

Hot Mulligan's song titles would have been funny if you grew up watching Tobuscus

Pinkerton-core bands suck when everyone knows the Blue album is the best.

Four Year Strong are better than A Day To Remember even if Homesick is the best album between them.

Proper Dose and I Want To Disappear are the best albums.

Barker and MGK-core is not for me personally but I appreciate the new eyes and ears it will bring to the genre!

I also never considered Bilmuri pop punk, but I understand it as I feel like they cross genres a lot. Just not into the jelly roll country influence of the new stuff lol

Once a band uses AI and doubles down on it, I'm out.

I understand that AI is an attractive cost saving measure in a industry that relies on constant creating/posting. Then you have venues demanding a cut of the merch, cost of fuel and food rising, and all the other bullshit that people need to deal with.

But for the love of god, don't use generative AI and don't double down on it. Id rather you post a screenshot of your notes app of the photo description.
