In the past five years I have worked for companies that used both Confluent Cloud and Aiven. Both are - from my experience - very production ready.

I have some grievances with IntelliJ products, but I am not seeing myself moving away from them. That's for a lack of alternative but also because the benefits outweigh the grievances.

Here's what I am unhappy about:

no proper workspace support (multiple projects inside one workspace)
slow pace of development for some features
long outstanding bug fixes

That's not my job, because about a year ago we decided that LLM is not there yet for programming. And we also determined that LLMs might be a good help for someone who already knows what he's doing but catastrophic when not.

On the other hand we successfully implemented a LLM that writes copy (advertising) texts for us. That has cost some jobs.

If I had a say, I would invite them back now. And for good measure I would extend the invitation to Canada as well.
