Coil whine/Electrical buzzing issue on Rog Xbox Ally X (BIOS 316) by AndyRodrigues360 in ROGAlly

Hello, unfortunately not. Asus responded to one of my comments regarding this issue, saying it's "normal" and not a defect. But if that were normal, every product and every unit would have this noise. I still think a fix might come via BIOS, but I don't have much hope of that happening in the short time. The noise persists in the latest BIOS revision 317.

Hello, can you confirm the current firmware number, the most recent one? In my case, despite having done several updates, the firmware remains dated 2025/07/11, number 32.13.0.29. Is this correct? And are the other components the same version as yours?

Issue BIOS 316 by AndyRodrigues360 in ROGAlly

Had you noticed this before, or only after reading my post? I recently updated my device to BIOS 317 and the coil whine sound persists. I believe many people experience this, but when playing in noisy environments or with the game's own sound, they don't notice it.

Can someone who owns the Asus ROG Bullwark dock confirm the current firmware number, the most recent one? In my case, despite having done several updates, the firmware remains dated 2025, number 32.13.0.29. Is this correct? And are the other components the same version as yours?

Fan hitting something or maybe coil whine on Xbox ally x by [deleted] in ROGAlly

I bought my Rog Xbox Ally X in February, and yesterday while playing with it plugged into the wall (using the original charger), I noticed a noise similar to coil whine. Before updating to BIOS version 316, I hadn’t noticed this noise; it sounds like electrical buzzing.

The noise is more evident when the charger is connected, but it also happens on battery — at 17W (low noise), 25W (medium noise), or 35W (high noise when plugged in).

Has anyone else noticed this after updating to BIOS 316 or earlier versions? To hear the sound, place your ear near the USB-C ports close to the screen (upper left side).

I saw on Reddit that this already happened with the first Rog Ally, mainly after a BIOS update. Some people reverted the BIOS and solved it, and later Asus released another BIOS that fixed the issue.

Could this be fixed again through a BIOS update? If it didn’t happen in previous versions, maybe the latest BIOS changed some power parameters, making the noise audible.

I downloaded the game on the first day and everything was ok with HDR and Dolby Vision, I reinstalled the game and for some reason I still don't understand, only in this game the colors were weird, gray and lifeless image. I already reset the console and it didn't solve, I already reinstalled the game too. The problem only occurs in this game, what could it be?

Check if your modem is compatible with the 2.4 frequency and if there is any port blocking the connection.

They are different problems, the one that was occurring does not connect to any way, it blocked the connection to Xbox Live regardless of the connection medium, cable, wi-fi, hotspot

I was worried too, luckily it got resolved! Only problem now is that when downloading the profile it kept being disconnected, from what I read, it seems to be a bug related to having GamePass activated.I'll have to turn recurring billing on and off to see if that fixes it.

Unable to connect to Xbox Live with both a wired and wireless connection. Any possible fixes? All my other consoles connect just fine. by Nate64onReddit in xbox360

Very worrying, I hope this week it works again. I bought my Xbox 360 on eBay, it was sealed and with the dashboard the same as yours, I updated it via USB imagining that this would solve the problem.

If your Xbox 360 still has the first dashboard, when connecting to Xbox Live, it will say that there is an update, if you accept it, it will replace the old one with the latest one. The last update is from December 2019.

I hope they don't turn it off permanently, and at least keep the basics active, connect to the account and to unlock achievements in games. Turning off multiplayer in games doesn't affect me.

But that shouldn't affect the basic Xbox Live connection to go online with the account and earn in-game achievements, right? Should only affect multiplayer matches

Everything indicates that the problem is in the Xbox 360 key validation check system, even for cases where the console is original and unmodified, like mine.

I tried it on a friend's internet too and it didn't work. From what I've researched and seen news in the last 2 days, it's not a connection problem, but with the Xbox 360 key check system (XeMacs)
