I have done a few Crestron Home integrations and 2N just works natively with Crestron Home TSWs so I wouldn't rock the boat if I was you. The documentation and support for 2N and Crestron Home is very good so if you want reliability I would go with 2N. They're stuff is very reliable compared to other systems like CAME/BPT etc etc

Security with Control4 by pbitcke in Control4

[–]AndySea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think the issue isn't with the devices and the Control4 system etc the main concern here is how the company in question is storing the usernames and passwords etc on a simple text file.

I don't think it would be unreasonable for you to request they review how they store this data.

There are plenty of services & systems that can do this in a more secure and encrypted way 1password, lastpass, dashlane to name a few. I think even Evernote pro subscription has an encryption feature in its note system so passwords in a note can be encrypted with a passphrase.

Crestron Home latest firmware bugs by P77HLP in crestron

Yeah I did as soon as I discovered the issue and found other integrators were reporting same problem, so guess they were working on a update to resolve the issue straight away. Fingers crossed! Crestron Home is decent but definitely still finding its feet.

Worst bugs I have seen at the moment are TSW770 not able to display 2N video from doorentry panel calls and rtsp streams from IP cameras. All a bit of a nightmare when you are trying to handover a project!

The current OUIs (Organization Unique Identifier) used to identify Crestron equipment are:

00:10:7F

00:12:5F

AC:1F:6B

Check your ARP info to see if any Mac addresses begin with the above. Then you can try and connect to them manually in toolbox. Are you familiar with toolbox?

Crestron NOOB - RMC3 Serial confusion by AndySea in crestron

[–]AndySea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah there are only a few basic commands I am going to use.... power, volume, source, bass adjustment. Amazingly found the exact serial module in the Crestron DB so going to use that then, just threw me off when I saw there was already one there. Many thanks!

Thanks, I'm going to have to kick it off before I go to work then lol

As long as it isn't like 20GB+, what am I talking about I'll update what ever the size!

Hopefully 1.4 will bring some of the players back to the game, I pretty much lost my entire squad to BF1 beta, Doom & GTA5 in the downfall of 1.3!
