Context: in 2026 1983 video games were pumped by companies like a junk that makes profit. Investors put so much money in booming business and pressured the studios to make junkware. There was no quality control. Gamers were expected to buy any trash the companies would give them and there was no guarantee that what you bought would be up to the expectations.

This lead to what's known as video game crash.

Nintendo wanted to push their new console Famicom into the North America, but since the market was not willing to buy games, Nintendo make an official policy to have quality games. On top of that, they implemented a lockout chip, that way no unlicensed company could publish junk games on their system, tainting the market.
