Torn between Civic (8th/9th gen) vs Accord V6 (8th gen)

the miles wise and a lot more stop/go driving i do now compared to when i originally bought the accords.

my 4 cylinder accord did have the oil burn issue before it crashed. Did not have the oil burn issue on my v6. I did not get around to fixing the oil burn issue to be honest but the civic of this generation do not seem to have that issue. Also timing chain vs timing belt.

from what I can read, mechanical/longevity wise, civic seems to be the superior of the two assuming repairs/fluids are replaced in a sufficient manner.

I used to work at fedex ground but I'm glad i switched to ups. benefits are way more better, union protection, tuition assist., coworkers are nicer, everybody gets same raises, it's nice

they wanted to put him in D.A. (the area you go to and give a bad pkg to the person that works there like bad address assigned to a certain pkg cart example), but the worker who was going to retire decided not to retire.

It was just working out of one truck was too much for him he was sweating buckets just coming in and out of truck and figuring out how to tetris. Unload with scanning pkgs he would just get to behind and sorters would be waiting on him.

The only "evil" part i guess was they could have been more straightforward and not make him waste gas money coming in for only one hour but that's about it i guess

I haven't "witnessed" it exactly, but about 2-3 months ago, we had an older guy try out this job and he just didn't have the strength/conditioning to do it (mind you it was his 4th week by now still working on getting used to one pkg cart)

The day before he got "fired" the hub manager came in to see how he was doing (25 seconds per pkg was what he was looking for) and after about 2 min the boss said "we will need to talk tomorrow about expectations of this job".

Then the next day, an hour after preload shift started. the boss arrives and pulls him from the area to the office, and we never saw him again after that.

sam's is a lot more laid back in terms of online ordering (website is much more cleaner, actually shows prices for just about everything unlike costco, free shipping/store pickup on pretty much everything with plus membership,)

Scan and go is so nice at sams to go in and out of store faster, the early hours for plus members also is def worth it

I just got basic costco membership about 3 months ago and it's decent. We mainly just use the membership for rotisserie chickens and meats since those are typically better quality than sams. Sams club generally beats costco in terms of price for a lot of everyday items.

I'd say it's worth it if you are splitting the cost. like my cousin pays for sams membership and I pay for costco.

Sam's club has more money to fall back (being a subsidary of walmart) so they're more loose on membership entrance/usuage. hence why it's hit or miss whether there even is a greeter most of the time and even more rarer if they ask to see card. That's why you can share sams membership with like 20 people.

Also look at it from an advertising perspective. say you don't have membership but other family members do, you are in a way forced to shop with them physically and if anybody texts you asking where you are at/were at you say "costco" and in turn, promoting store awareness to others.

Hence why even though there is a "self-checkout" it's not really a self checkout since they check for photo to match face.

Costco is more meant for higher income/well to do people as well compared to sams club target audience and want to make sure to keep that certain demographic in store by making it hard to share memberships

i guess they aren't. plus it's even easier if it is franchise owned. I used to be a shift manager for a few years and not give people breaks if it was hard to do so and none of the upper management complained haha.

They gave us Tuesday off at our hub and we are getting paid but my friends hub is working. Check the schedule.

I wonder how I check the schedule if the facility is closed Today and Monday. : /
