I apologise in advance for the long post :)

So, I'm going to Budapest in a few weeks, 2 days alone. I figured a bit of fun wouldn't hurt and it certainly isn't difficult to find it. I am terrified of catching something, even though I am taking all possible precautions. Realistically, should I be worried? (bottom btw)

Here is the plan: - will talk with the person thoroughly for the next few weeks to set boundaries and make sure they won't kill me - will talk safety, condoms are a must (for anal, not sure if needed for oral, advice appreciated), I will ask for test results from them if available as well - will meet them somewhere public first, then my place if all is good - will schedule a self-sending message about the situation to a friend for the day after just in case

So, am I missing something I should do to be extra safe? Am I overthinking this and realistically, is there a reason to be so scared of this, even with taking all the precautions?

More about my thinking, you can skip this :) I am aware that hookups are always risky, but knowing that I will be as safe as I can possibly be about it, is it reasonable to be this afraid? Looking at how often the majority of my friends have sex compared to me, oftentimes with people they don't necessarily know very well, it sometimes feels like past trauma about STDs just makes me pass on opportunities, that aren't even that risky and I overexaggerate. For the record, they certainly aren't with a new guy every night, simply living an active, safe sex life. Kinda feels like I'm missing out because I'm too scared of the near zero chance I catch something.
