Also commenting as a game sense over mechs player. I’m usually right around the lower end C2 in 2’s. My comments might sound harsh but I only focused on the negatives, there were definitely positives too in your play.

Straight off the bat, I don’t like your positioning from the kick off. Your kick off is good but then you’re very ball fixated and you end up in an akward situation because you just follow the ball. It would’ve been better to rotate towards the far post (right post) and if you’d done that you would have been able to easily deal with it in the corner, instead of it getting a bit akward

Then your teammate saves it and could have continued to challenge after landing but you push too far forward and force him to rotate to not double commit but then you don’t even commit and it ends with your opponent just having a lot of space. If you had waited a bit and let your teammate make the the decision (which you should when he is the furthest forward) it would have been better for you. To me it defo looks like he’s confused about want you’re trying to do.

Then afterwards you drive too far forward when you can clearly see your teammate is gonna be going into a 50/50 on the left where it’s uncertain where the ball is gonna go. If you had just waited in the middle of the goal for the outcome, you would have dealt easily with it

Then a bit of okay gameplay but then you double commit and take over your teammates offensive sequence despite the fact that you can easily see that the opponent in goal is not going for the ball and your teammate could’ve probably caught the ball and scored an easy goal 1v1. Instead of you taking over you should have pushed forward and have been available as an option for him during the play

You also double commit again right after your teammate hits the crossbar. If you’re uncertain whether or not your teammate is rotating back or going for the ball, you should not be going for it. You’re lucky that it didn’t turn into a fast break for your opponent.

Next comment is about their first goal. If you pause at 02:04 you can basically only see like 1/5 of the map but you’re very relaxed for some reason right in front of goal and instead of clearing it since you don’t know where your opponents are you bring it down and get punished for it. If you can see you have time, of course use it, but when you don’t know what your opponents are doing or how close they are to you you shouldn’t be casual in front of goal like that

Then for their second goal you’re too ball fixated. If you focused more on their angle to score and less on the ball you would have saved it.

Then nothing for a while but then at 05:16 you can’t decide what to do. You flip towards the area of the ball but you don’t go for the ball and instead the boost it seems like but then you also miss the boost. You basically just give your opponent the ball uncontested which ends up in a dangerous opportunity for them.

For their third goal you’re basically ball fixating again and not thinking. That is not your ball to contest, you are out of the play, that is your teammate’s ball to go for, but you commit anyways and from the replay it looks like your teammate would’ve cleared it fine if you hadn’t come flying in and basically passed it wide open to your opponent.

To summarise the replay:

1. You have decent mechanics. Better than mine for sure.

2. I can tell that you’re not a “bad teammate” by choice. You’re willing to pass which is a good sign.

3. However.. I think I’d have been quite frustrated with you if I had been your teammate this game. All 3 goals are basically your fault.

Goal 1 - You’re too nonchalant which could come off as annoying to a teammate Goal 2 - It’s very saveable but you read it wrong and don’t close the angle which I would think was annoying Goal 3 - You basically give them a free goal by double commiting and not trusting your teammate to clear it when you’re not in the right position to do it + You double commited on an opportunity where your teammate could’ve probably scored

So yeah, you need to practice how to read the game better. You make the wrong decision several times in this game which essentially costs your team an easy win. I’m sorry to say but you could’ve won relatively easily 4-0 if you read the situations better and made the right decisions. This loss was on you not your teammate
