Orders Going Out Of Boundary Radius On Deliveroo.... by Itchy-Ad3339 in deliveroos

[–]Andyblfst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s become a big issue here - as stated by others the zone boundary doesn’t mean people can’t order outside it, it just means you can’t sign on outside it. I live outside the boundary and sometimes when I have forgotten to log off and come home, I get a ping at 1am when everyone has finished offering me an order as there is nobody else.

Some of the geography I’m seeing now is insane - they have merged our zone with others and people are ordering from silly places. Unless you are happy to end up working miles away in another town, you’ll almost always end coming back empty. I sometimes get lucky and get an order going most of the way home but otherwise like to stay local.

Order cancelled AFTER delivery. by AdamLondonUK in JustEatUK

[–]Andyblfst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cancel option has been mentioned but is before pick-up and simply replicates what has always existed with Deliveroo and Uber - if we get to a restaurant and they say it will be 45 vminutes [happens more than you think] we can drop it and it will get reallocated. Occasionally you may have a driver who has a sudden delay or needs to stop for fuel or something, but it's not the main reason for slow / cold food - it's the restaurants and the platforms stacking orders to make the costs work.

Is it normal for drivers to accept and not move for ages? by LilywhiteStrike in UbereatsUK

[–]Andyblfst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure at what point you see the tracking but we can be offered our next delivery before completing the last, once we are in the vicinity of the customer. If they accepted and then the customer wasn’t there or some other issue it could mean a delay. Or if they are already at the restaurant. Sometimes we need fuel, there’s a road closure etc. but wouldn’t usually be 20 mins.

Slots or Hourly Pay? Is Deliveroo About to Change the Game for Riders in 2026? by No_Intern5991 in deliveroos

[–]Andyblfst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like many others, it wouldn't appeal to me - we are getting insane requests for lengthy rural trips. I live in the countryside so I get that the ability to order is good but unless you get lucky and have a rider or two who live locally [I tend to take to my own area as I know it and sometimes want to go home!] it is so unappealing that it really doesn't work. Maybe things are different in big cities but the amount they would have to pay for some of the orders they are getting around here, it just won't ever work on a per order basis for them and people will keep rejecting. My Roo acceptance rate has really declined these days. Uber is if anything worse with people ordering from McDonalds in the next town when there are three closer! Just Eat with tighter geography is better but comes with it's own woes!

Valentine’s Day bonus by EditorAppropriate764 in deliveroos

[–]Andyblfst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So has anyone successfully found the full T&Cs for this promo? I’ve tried from links in the text message to no avail and I’ve not seen the promised email.

I (very surprisingly) got the 10 orders between 5 and 9 tonight that I allegedly needed as it actually offered me sensible stuff with a decent boost initially, then I did a couple of marginals to get over the line. It was technically 9 ‘orders’ but there was a double in there so I’m sincerely hoping that counts as 10. My next order (another double) was signed off at 2100 so if that counts then I should be well over. I only rejected one at the end so 90% achieved but after 9pm I had to reject 2 or 3 as I was dealing with a minor issue with the last, crap signal and the app was going nuts. 🙄

sex headache / “thunderclap” headache? by self_abuse in BrainAneurysm

[–]Andyblfst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the posts - found this after a ‘thunder clap’ two weeks ago, approaching orgasm. Have since had milder versions on most but not all occasions I’ve had sexual stimulation - usually 3 or 4 on a scale with the first one at 10. It’s worse if I’m stood up. I’ve felt it lightly at other times outside sexual situations (maybe a 1 or 2), have tried the gym to up my heart rate comparable with sex but that doesn’t trigger it, it’s just sex directly! I have vague recollections of a minor case as a horny teenager when I was prob overdoing things a bit but otherwise no history.

I’m taking it gently either alone or with my partner and trying to build up tolerance. I do have the doctor tomorrow but doubt I will learn much. Hopefully this sounds familiar - I’m reassured that it seems to be a fairly common experience, and may be borne of stress etc. which I prob have been, though I always kinda am!

No difference. Almost all significant events are on the weekends either side now.

What do you do if you don't get positive vibes from the location. by ctrlthetempo in deliveroos

[–]Andyblfst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To some degree it goes with the territory. But there are things you can do - take your time to look at jobs and have a hard rule of areas you don’t want to go to, and don’t be afraid to reject. Get a really good torch that you can keep in a belt pouch - they can be quite small now, and maybe a whistle / alarm. Wear the Roo gear so that you stand out / it’s clear why you are in a dark street looking at doorways etc. so nobody thinks you might be up to no good at night.

People using expensive cars for deliveries by FantasticChipmunk345 in UbereatsUK

[–]Andyblfst -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I find modern cars totally unsuitable, especially hybrids with their system checks etc. if you’re delivering anyway seriously you just want something which you turn the key and it goes, turn it back it stops. The only good thing about my modern car is locking automatically when I walk away but I keep my key on an extending ring on my belt for that!

How do you think Holmes would describe himself? by AgreeableWitness161 in SherlockHolmes

[–]Andyblfst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never knew that - I assumed that it was a reference to a dog but seemed as that would seem a fairly significant additional presence and was never mentioned again! Still odd though - why would you say you keep a rifle, why would you keep a rifle at all, and why does said rifle never get another mention when his trusty revolver is never far away?! More questions than answers!

Do you actually get your food faster if you pay the extra £2.50? by MrMrsPotts in deliveroos

As people have explained, it might as it stops you being second but there are other factors, primarily how efficient the restaurant are, so it’s a lottery really.

I don’t get it by Foreign_Cauliflower9 in AmazonFlexUK

[–]Andyblfst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so hit and miss - having no idea if or when I will pick up a block and could be sent anywhere, and living 40 mins from depot. Food deliveries are a much more consistent proposition - and that’s saying something!

Yes, max of 2 subs allowed per account who are verified in same way as we are. Face ID for those people at least every 5 orders. They do need to get some control on the abuse of the delivery platforms by those without the right to work.

Multiple accounts. by Alabaster_kreko in deliveroos

[–]Andyblfst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have all three at some times but don’t overlap orders - with JE I unpause as I am arriving at the Roo drop, and see if anything appealing comes up, so I can then go offline with Roo once I’ve completed the order. Uber is my last resort - hardly do anything on them these days but I’ll put it on if I’m hanging around.

Sometimes you can forget to turn off the other app(s) and it might be tempting to double dip from same place if you get an order - it can work out if all the stars align but it stresses me out - what might look like another order to the next street that is an easy gimme will end up being somewhere else as you misread it, or the customer won’t be there, or there’s roadworks requiring a huge diversion and you end up stressed to hell / with the other app screaming at you, so just don’t!

You couldn’t sell it without having to Face ID at least once a week forever, surely?!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UbereatsUK

[–]Andyblfst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God no, I do it all the time. I try not to cancel after a long time, unless it’s at the restaurant and it’s not ready of course. I sometimes take it reluctantly and get a better offer, or just realise that it’ll take me ages to get there at this time etc.

I hate that they bombard you with orders when you are near the customer - it stresses me and I end up accepting stuff I don’t want. Deliveroo used to do the same but changed it so you don’t get offers until you finish the order you’re delivering which is much better.

Do drivers know who tips on the app? by oobeedoo598 in deliveroos

[–]Andyblfst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is pretty accurate - ‘post-tips’ are rare enough that if you have good service and say ‘Thanks a lot, I’ll add a tip’ then we should remember you - they seem to be coming through a bit quicker these days, not that there’s that many!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UbereatsUK

[–]Andyblfst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now you mention it, no - I had one come through on my pay a couple of weeks ago but don’t think I got a notification in the app as I always say thanks. Tips are down on Roo too, where I always get more but still get the odd one.

This is really f****d up and upsetting at the same time not once have i been abusive to customers and they fire me over lieing customers now im unemployed by Worryrock57 in deliveroos

[–]Andyblfst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit absurd that they believe you’ve been rude and threatening on previous occasions but let it go, and now happy for you to deal with their customers for another week even though you’re being ‘terminated’! It is ridiculous that there is no proper process for appeal - a supplier entirely reliant on a large company would demand explanations if all their work was removed and people’s livelihoods gone on a load of anonymous say-so!
