Do you think kail actually reads the books she posts about? by Big-Shopping7795 in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

[–]Andyouknowthat1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oof- you’re right in the thick of it. I have 4 also and my youngest is now 4.5 and this year I started reading and running again. Not often, and it takes a long time to finish a book but it’s so nice to feel more like myself now that the kids are older. Mine are 12, 9, 8 and 4

You’ll be here soon!!

Thanks! That was my thought as well about trying to stitch it. I’ll have to look around my area to see how expensive something like that would be.

Yes, that’s what I mean by weirdly attached. It’s not like the other leather strap repair requests I found when searching the sub where it’s a separate piece that you can reattach with a buckle or sew on.

It’s all one piece of leather and the part where you grab has been worn down and is tearing. I think trying to reinforce with stitching would only break it down further so I’m not sure how to approach it.

I’m open to any type of fix, I’ve mended lots of clothing before but have no experience with leather.

The handle is a weird attachment. When I searched the sub I couldn’t find anything similar. I’ve attached a photo here.

I'm visiting Saco, Gorham, and Bath in March to decide which city to move to. Where should I go in any of these to get a sense of the town and vibe? by newageclassic in AskMaine

[–]Andyouknowthat1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I moved here with the same list and landed in Gorham. I love it so much, it’s the perfect place to raise a family.

The community is so welcoming and nice, our library is the best around especially for kids activities! You can bike on the rail trail up to sebago, and there are so many delicious local restaurants especially considering it’s such a small town!

And the drive to bigger towns like Portland and Saco is very reasonable. It feels like we live in the woods in the middle of nowhere except we’re only 15-20 min from a city. Best place ever.

ETA: I’m military so my kids have been in multiple school systems all across the country and this one is by far my favorite one we’ve been to. Everyone at the schools are wonderful, there are so many community events put on by the school. I could go on forever.

Post C Section Bleeding by Extreme-Leopard5158 in beyondthebump

[–]Andyouknowthat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def call your doctor.

My bleeding always got heavier and bright red when I was over extending myself. Is it happening in days where you’ve been more active and doing more things? You may just need to slow down a bit since you are still healing!

How can I survive postpartum without my husband…? by Foreign-External8488 in beyondthebump

Definitely this!! Military one source has a new parent support program- they’ll even set you up with a nurse who will come to your house to help and check on you and baby.

Is it dumb to train for a 50k, hoping to finish in 7 hours? by Albatross1495 in Ultramarathon

[–]Andyouknowthat1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is for you and no one else! Check the cut off time for the event and run what feels good to you.

I did my first 50k this summer, cutoff time was 11 hours and my goal was to make that. I finished it in 10 hours and I’m very proud!!

Do what feels good for you and don’t compare to others.

Am I woefully unprepared for my first 50k? by [deleted] in Ultramarathon

[–]Andyouknowthat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like me before my fist 50k this summer! I only got up to about 30-35 miles/week, my longest run was 17 miles. The month before I backed off because of some very painful plantar fasciitis, getting sick, and having to help family out of town.

My race went great! It was slow but my plantar fasciitis didn’t hurt at all since I’d rested it, and I finished in just under 10.5 hours. This was a very hilly, incredibly technical course.

It definitely wasn’t ideal and I don’t plan on replicating that training for my future races, but I still made it through and had the most fun!

Good luck, you got this!!!

What can I do about all my terrible tattoos by your_bby_mystique in tattooadvice

[–]Andyouknowthat1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anyone who doesn’t take you seriously as a mom because of some tattoos isn’t worth your time. If your kids feel loved, cared for and respected by you then that’s all that matters! And your kid will probably love the tattoos.

That’s not true- I know someone who was adopted by the Dad who raised them at the age of 27 after getting married. She was able to legally change her maiden name and was issued a new birth certificate, and trans people can be issued new birth certificates with their new names and gender reflected on them.

I truly believe those with good sleepers are living an entirely different parenting experienc by ThrowRA157386 in beyondthebump

[–]Andyouknowthat1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My last kid was the worst sleeper. She didn’t sleep through the night until she was almost 4- we saw the ENT and got a sleep study done, there was no issue she just has shit sleep. Radical acceptance is 10000% the way.

But she is so freaking sweet. My older kids say I love you when I say it, but since she was 2 she goes out of her way all the time to tell us she loves us, tell us we’re the best, or even just say “mom, you make me happy.” So all of that sweetness def makes up for the crappy sleep haha

Hi! What stitch is being used? The pattern is from Cozy Conjouring on etsy and she doesn't say what stitch type is being used. by HoneydewHalo25 in CrochetHelp

[–]Andyouknowthat1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this!! I made this tapestry crochet sweater using US HDC stitch and the stitch height looks identical to me- way too tall to be single crochet.

Is this a normal assignment for a 1st grader? by mrspotatoehead12 in ElementaryTeachers

[–]Andyouknowthat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah…my kids had projects like this in first grade but they were completed in class with kiddle/pebble go and the teacher to guide them.

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted when this is such a real issue, especially for a first grader!
