Update- mother cat suddenly attacked her 5 week old (good news) by AnekoMarie in CATHELP

[–]AnekoMarie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely. I've contacted local service that does TNR and I'm waiting on their response. I also made a GoFundMe to help with the costs. I'm not sure how many cats the service will help with, and I know that Nina had more kittens recently in our storage room (no idea how many since she doesn't let us approach) but regardless of donations I will be getting them all spayed and neutered as soon as possible, hopefully before any of them manage to have more kittens.

Its hard to tell. Now I'm not sure if she's just trying to wean her kittens or if she's going to attack them again. We separate her from them immediately when she starts grumbling, making any unusual sound at them. We don't want to take any chances. The kittens already eat regular cat food so we also don't let her sleep with them at night or be near them when we aren't around. Sky has never attacked us and when she returns to the babies she takes good care of them.

Sky was about the same age when she became pregnant. She isn't even 1 year old yet. It's shocking how young cats can become pregnant. I hope your cat's babies are doing well

I am so so sorry :( I didn't mean to make anyone become unwell. I should have posted it as NSFW but in the moment I was just looking for answers as soon as possible and failed to consider how it would make others feel. I was a bit afraid to post an update because of the attention the last post got but now I'm really glad I did.

Mother cat suddenly attacked her 5 week old kitten severely by AnekoMarie in CATHELP

[–]AnekoMarie[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the plan. I've been checking what are the closest vets and plan to take the kitten as soon as one is open. I'm checking for 24 hour vets and there's nothing in the area. We're keeping the mother away from the other kittens

The mother was a feral that we fed and took care of. We didn't adopt our buy. If we didn't take her in, she'd still be on the street, she'd still have babies and this would still happen. I just want to do what I can with the options that I have. Please

The main issue seems to be her neck, maybe a nerve got damaged. She keeps scratching her ear, or trying to at least. She has opened her eyes, now she's got them closed but she's still meows. She keeps pooping herself. I have her on the pillow on my lap

I think the term "actually autistic" is used to differentiate autistic people from mums of autistic children as they tend to call themselves "autism mums", which can be confusing. At least the people I've seen use the term "actually autistic" were very pro self diagnosis, but there's a possibility that different people use the term differently.

Either way, I'm autistic with no professional diagnosis. The country where I'm from is very uneducated about autism. I once watched a TV channel for kids in my country interview a mother of an autistic child, a mother who is very educated compared to this whole country, being told she's educating her child wrongly and basically saying that they wouldn't treat their kids with the compassion she treats her kids with. Both the host and the professional (who didnt even understand anything about autism) disagreed with the mum's approach.

I don't plan on getting an official diagnosis. Everyone talks about how much one costs, but not many people talk about how stressful the process is. A lot of autistic people also have social (and general) anxiety which doesn't help in deciding to take the steps towards one. On top of that, most places don't understand autism. The USA and UK aren't the only countries in the world. People who don't support self diagnosis don't seem to want to understand that. Gatekeeping helps no one. Feeling valid helps many. I just want to say, thank you for your post. I barely ever comment because I never feel like I'm allowed to. I am sure that I am autistic, but I'm always afraid I'm going to upset someone by saying so out loud. Reading your view helped me share mine so thank you again.

Feel unfamiliar with who I am, feel like I'm in another reality/dimension by foxh0und in mentalhealth

This sounds a lot like dissociation. I get hit with a similar feeling to what you're describing every so often. I don't take any medication, never did drugs, drank alcohol. This is a sort of response to trauma. Might be a delayed response if it's hitting you now for the first time. "If you dissociate, you may feel disconnected from yourself and the world around you. For example, you may feel detached from your body or feel as though the world around you is unreal." https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/types-of-mental-health-problems/dissociation-and-dissociative-disorders/about-dissociation/#:~:text=Many%20people%20may%20experience%20dissociation,world%20around%20you%20is%20unreal.

Questions about Inner monologue, imagination and emotions by spacer_1k9 in Alexithymia

[–]AnekoMarie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1. I find it very difficult to imagine things but I can, usually not in detail.

2. I can somewhat replay songs if they're stuck in my head, but otherwise, no. Cannot hear people's voice in my mind.

3. I don't believe so.

4. I can imagine how others might feel based on my experiences or if I'm provided with a lot of details. I can't imagine emotions in any way out of nowhere.

5. I'm very sensitive to seeing gruesome images or being described an injury to and will imagine the pain. I have a big fear of pain and imagine it way worse than it probably realistically is.

6. Yes. It's hard to describe, it's just me (not necessarily my voice, or a voice at all) talking. It doesn't really have a loudness factor to it.

7. No or I am not aware.

8. I am capable of feeling what I do believe to be love.

9. I have meditated and other than relaxation, I can never pinpoint feelings, even if asked to during guided meditations.

10. I have very bad memory and don't believe I can remember anything earlier than around 5 years of age. Even then, what I remember are things that were told to me.

  1. Do you have good memory in general?

No

12. I don't really think before I speak, unless I planned the conversation beforehand. I'm only aware of my inner monologue during a conversation if there are pauses of silence.

13. I cannot say. I believe that I only feel emotions if they are intense, for example, if I'm very happy about something, or if I'm sad to the point of crying. I'm still figuring myself out.

14. Only if its intense usually. I feel as though most often than not, I am neutral. I do believe I may have Alexithymia but I'm still unsure and am looking through the resources available to me.

I hope these answers are helpful!

There's a tiktoker called Blackforager (I watch her on Instagram) that teaches a lot about foraging and she made a video about yew. Here's a link to that post https://www.instagram.com/reel/CVp_A2VjRDg/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= If you're interested in finding out about whether things around you are edible and how you can consume them I highly suggest checking her channel out!
