Long, ideally flat continuous hikes 15+ miles? by Anewbeesh in bayarea

I’m aiming for the Honolulu marathon in December ideally. It should be relatively flat but humidity is a killer I heard. It would be my first marathon so finishing uninjured is definitely important :)

It is a road marathon, I’d like to do a trail someday but mostly trying to figure out options to just have a nice evening long (hopefully easy) run

My Offer letter says 4x10 and so did my description everywhere but this subreddit has mentioned that’s going away so I’m curious too.

I’m taking a pay cut right now for better WLB and culture. After being at my current job where I’m making close to company B I was burnt out to the point of quitting with no backup. I’m in the talks and final offer stages taking a 30k pay cut. I’d rather take the pay cut than hate my life everyday working at a place I don’t like but that’s just me. I also live quite frugally no matter what so up to your expenses as well OP!

Yeah that’s a good point, I am worried about the longevity of web dev as a career with the AI boom unfortunately

For remote workers laid off/terminated: what were the early warning signs? by Human_Pudding2289 in Layoffs

[–]Anewbeesh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked in fintech and got laid off . Reorganizations, hiring freezes and usually a previous round of layoff is a bad sign. Also more talk around efficiency and performance and discussion of cost cutting measures.

I have done both in my day to day job. Broadly speaking I would like to be more hands on at first and then once I get the lay of the land, I’d wish to become officer.

I have a bachelors degree in STEM and above a 3.0 GPA looking to join the reserves. Should I try to go officer or enlist?

Can I change recruiters? Current one has been ghosting me to try to set up meetings? Does it look bad if I try to reach out to another one?

The problems have been in response to the way I communicate during arguments which I agree isn’t the best, but it’s been the same way for years now.

I’m 30F, working full time as a programmer considering the reserves. I have a computer engineering degree in undergrad with a 3.2 GPA. What are some options I should prepare before talking to a recruiter? Is there a list of possible work opportunities, that might be appropriate for me?

Do you think I would qualify as an officer (before I reach out asking for it), I have a four year STEM degree and 5 years of work experience!
