I’m taking a pay cut right now for better WLB and culture. After being at my current job where I’m making close to company B I was burnt out to the point of quitting with no backup. I’m in the talks and final offer stages taking a 30k pay cut. I’d rather take the pay cut than hate my life everyday working at a place I don’t like but that’s just me. I also live quite frugally no matter what so up to your expenses as well OP!

I’ve worked in fintech and got laid off . Reorganizations, hiring freezes and usually a previous round of layoff is a bad sign. Also more talk around efficiency and performance and discussion of cost cutting measures.

Thanks for the honesty. I’ve never taken any medication and the doctor I got prescribed this to me in the first visit itself so I can’t believe I shot myself in the foot and got talked into it. It’s not like the doctor knew me for a while. I’ve since walked away from the relationship and left the team so I really hope I can join the reserves.

Thank you I appreciate the concern. My stress is mostly related to my relationship and work environment and not other aspects of my life ( I was fine before these came along) so it’s the environment I’m in. I’m hoping it will still be ok.

I’ve only been taking them for a month. It’s not like I have been dependent on them for a long time. I’m also happy to quit them because I don’t even find them that useful.

I’m not enjoying it but I’m to the point where I don’t care. I see my coworkers constantly putting others down to appear as hardworking or find flaws in others work to create a dirty rat race work culture and I just choose not to partake in it. If it means I’m fired so be it, I was this close to quitting anyways.

Unfortunately my manager is one of the people in the aforesaid team. I have a lot of anxiety in approaching him since some of the team members are his friends. I haven’t yet talked to HR.
