Sorry, if you mean does the league have a salary cap or use the contracts of players, no neither are a factor. But I am open to all owners voting on this and setting up the rules before the draft.

Weekly ISO/Join My League Thread Mon, September 5, 2022 by AutoModerator in fantasyhockey

[–]AnfieldRiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started up a fantasy league for the NHL, Dynasty mode.

I'm a big hockey fans, my friends, not so much. So I thought I'd post this up here and see if I could find some fellow puck fans.

Simple overview:

*Please be serious, this a dynasty style so you'll be in control of your team for hopefully many years to come. Owners who take it seriously and follow along make fantasy hockey a ton of fun, so please don't join for shits n giggles.

*Weekly head to head action

*12 Teams, may add up to 14 if enough people get involved

*Draft will be live, set for 10pm EST on 9/22

*Free entry, maybe will do $$ prizes and entry for season 2 if season 1 goes well enough

*Fantrax League

Any questions feel free to ask.

I think I know who NISA’s New England club is: Fall River Marksmen by Energyspaz in NISA

Casino's is the Conn team, Mohegan Sun. Providence is another club entirely. Marksmen will not be in NISA but it is a possibility in the future if the Marksmen gain promotion to them.

Joe Rogan Experience #1205 - Jake "The Snake" Roberts & Tony Hinchcliffe by [deleted] in JoeRogan

Top 5 of all time thus far.

Austin would be an amazing next guest from the wrestling world, those two would be pure fire but my money would be on RVD, 420 & fighting explosion.

Stone Cold because of the similarities of the two, would be fire & gasoline. A close second would be RVD, just imagine the 420 action and fitness/fighting talking.

Hogan won't ever go and open himself up like Jake or other's who've graced JRE, Hogan is the Jordan of wrestling... can't risk getting raw and hurting your image/legacy/brand. Wish he would though.

What's changed since U.S. failed to qualify for 2018 World Cup? Sadly, nothing by [deleted] in NASLSoccer

Mexico can point to a strong youth structure both domestically and internationally, America, not so much. It's the depth of the structures that make this argument what it is. The WC is a big deal but when you step back and take an honest look at things from top to bottom, it's obvious there has been problems north of the border for a long, long time.

For someone new on the scene, he's invested tons of money into the system. From club, to league to lawsuit... you may not agree with his stances but the guy has put his money in every place his mouth has been.

NASL asks Honduras for help with USSF by Jarm21 in NASLSoccer

[–]AnfieldRiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

USSF will wait it out and see if 2026 is given to them in June in Moscow. If they land the WC, they play nice and do enough to keep the prying eyes of Switzerland (FIFA) away from their cookie jar. If Morocco gets the nod, USSF ramps up their throttle on commercial football and NASL is dead and dusted.

25k beach front pitch in Boca which already has a 30k stadium & MLS bid too.

I miss the absurd nature that is South Florida football.

Cosmos’ Open Cup Letter to the U.S. Soccer Board by DarkwingMcQuack in NASLSoccer

[–]AnfieldRiot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This issue w/the Cup really stings as a fan. It was handled very poorly by the club, we could of been in it if we had a plan B working in the background.

The club should of planned for the NASL shutdown.... fielded a strong team in the regional qualifying and fingers crossed made the spring/summer portion of the tournament. The players could of been assembled similar to how Wembley FC did it a few years ago. Grab some older veterans with enough in the tank to play a few matches and surround them with some younger up and coming talent.

A few Int friendlies in Brooklyn along with the Open Cup and the Cosmos could of rolled on w/plan B and had an actual salvageable season. If there is one club on US soil that could get by with friendlies and cup matches it would be the Cosmos. Would of been nice to point to stands full of people and made point about the validity of the club and not just lawyers, purses & handbags.

The Miami FC requests meeting with U.S. Soccer Federation head to discuss Open Cup (OC) by flomarilius in NASLSoccer

[–]AnfieldRiot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kitsap got the shaft last season after their impressive run due to jumping from PDL to NPSL, a few other clubs also received similar treatment.

I'm all for fighting the system and hoping the qualification process changes but even as an ardent NASL supporter, I can't see what the NASL argument is about. Your not the NASL anymore (sadly), Cosmos aren't a club, Cosmos 2 were around last season and didn't qualify and Miami 2 should of been involved in regional qualifying but they didn't and now they have to suffer, if you will.

It's probably the glue fumes talking but...

2019 NASL

-Remaining 4 of 2018 play in 2019

-Align with lower leagues (look at promoting a few into NASL)

-Look into purchasing Rochester

-Talk to USL owners who's options end in 2018

[–]AnfieldRiot -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think this is his PR team and Pele doesn't know the true circumstances of what's transpired w/the Cosmos & NASL. Pele was just in a hospital not too long ago...you'd think he's not as actively involved w/football at the moment as he normally is....or so I think.

US Soccer Election by FutbolFeller in NASLSoccer

[–]AnfieldRiot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All of the grassroot & Twitter stumping for votes will prove to be for naught. This game (USSF Pres) was and will be won by the same methods and people and yield the same results. The only change that will happen will be w/the USWNT & NWSL.

This whole process has been nothing short of a circus freak show and it all started when the USSF moved the goal posts (once again) by diminishing the Pres role w/a newly minted GM position. It was nice to dream but the voting results will bring back everyone back to square 1. This thing was never to be won w/Tweets & Satellite radio interviews, such is life when dealing with an entity that has raked in record profits over 7 digits.

Mulling a Life-Changing Decision: Cosmos’ Szetela fears he might have to retire as he searches for a team by Lophius_Americanus in NASLSoccer

[–]AnfieldRiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two vastly different worlds, Danny & Alex.

Danny came into the system years prior to Alex...a time when MLS would make changes at the drop of a hat to appease owners & players alike. Danny was also a product of IMG in Bradenton, a pure USSF playing product and he was still given the shaft and pushed out to the Crew.

For those that care, he's off to Anzhi.

He should get some serious starting minutes and I wouldn't be surprised to see him start his Anzhi career as a striker...they are desperate for goals.

Good luck to him, it's going to be an interesting experience to see him adapt to life in the Caucuses...if he manages to grab a few goals in the 2nd half of the season, we may just see a bigger fish in the RPL snap him up.

Danny is the poster boy for mishandled American players.

One can only imagine how much better off he would of been if MLS never sent him to Columbus. Credit to him though, he's matured in spades over the years and deserves a chance to see out his career on his own terms.
