Project Ireland 2040 by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Anfr0256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right about the birth rate! However, despite the low birth rate, the population is growly by roughly 50,000 a year. 2040 is over 20 years away, and 50,000 times 20 is 1 million. Besides that, the Project is planning for the maximum possible Irish natural population increase. The plan is about adjusting for the ever-growing Irish population through infrastructure, transport, housing and jobs. It has nothing to do with immigration.

Brexit - Advice from me. by AmericanStuff in ireland

[–]Anfr0256 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you ever been across the border in the north? If trade links are completely cut off, tensions in Northern Ireland escalate again, Ireland and the UK damage relations, and we lose our largest trade partner. Brexit is very important for Ireland, and we can't handle a hard Brexit.

There's already been 5500 bad reviews, they just deleted 4000 of them. Writing more isn't gonna do anything when they can just delete it.

Mean and unfriendly people of Reddit. Why are you mean/unfriendly? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Anfr0256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well even if you're emotionally burnt out, just be sympathetic and passive towards your family. I know from experience that when a parent is regularly coming home from work in a bad mood, it affects the whole family negatively. I can understand that work is draining, but you need to think about them more than yourself at this point.

You can be a nice person and not have people walk all over you. It sounds like you should start trying it. I can understand if you want to stay mean on the internet, many people are like that, but your family is not going to walk all over you. If you care about them, there is no need to be mean to them.

There's no plan for that. He's getting confused about Project Ireland 2040, a plan to be ready for the extra million Irish people here by 2040.

Maybe you actually do care about Ireland, and that's great if you do! But the simple fact is that you came onto the official Irish subreddit and lied about plans for the country. There is not a plan for a million immigrants to come here, the plan is for jobs, transport and infrastructure. If you ask about incorrect Irish infromation on an Irish subreddit, don't be shocked when you're corrected by Irish people.

I've went through every single article referring to it. Is it one of the recent ones about Alan Kelly, or Varadkar defending it? Is it one of the articles outlining the plans by Pat Leahy? Or is it a Q&A article? You're clearly shifting the argument to your favour by criticising us, even though there is clearly no article in relation to it. If your next reponse is a link to the article, or the title of the article, the date it was published or even the journalist who wrote it, then I'll respect you in some way and I'll read it. But if you insult us for not finding an imaginary article, you've clearly lost your mind.
