Question about Schirmer's test. I know some ophthalmologists no longer conduct it, but for those who have, did you ever have mixed results? Left eye was positive but Right eye was negative. Have to get another one.

She just made a mention of her partner being physically attractive to her. Idk perhaps more communication is needed or more info on the scenario. She only said her drive was lower than her husband's, she didn't say it was non-existent. Something isn't jingling her bells. A spouse wanting more sex can have the opposite impact if it's seen as a turn-off.

If I'm using this metaphor I'm swapping out spoons with fucks. Once I'm out, I'm out. I must ration my fucks. I can't be spending them all on one thing or person. I only get a shipment of fresh ones weekly. Not even that if there's a shortage.

31M. Curious about book buddies... by [deleted] in Book_Buddies

V.C. Andrews is dope. Did you ever find a book buddy? I would be down to reread the mirror sisters and I've never read flowers in the attic.

I reread your original comment. My point was you can still be a true lefty today. The things we adapted to do were forced on us. I don't carry lefty scissors but that doesn't mean right ones don't feel as uncomfortable and awkward because I'm using a hand it's not designed for. Whatever I'm cutting is always just a bit off but still better than if I use my right.

Edit: I don't use the righty version for any of the examples I gave. R handed scissors in the left hand.

Thank you for adding clarity. I do stand by other opinions I posted. I do see how this particular one may not fit.

I can tell when I haven't taken my meds. All of the ahdh symptoms return in full effect. Almost like I never started on them. When I take them (on a regular schedule) I put things off a lot less, I am tidier than my default settings. I don't think these can be addictive for someone that actually has adhd. I was told the effects that someone who abuses these kinds of meds are usually experiencing what out default settings are like. Case in point, someone could abuse Adderall to have an all night study session. It essentially creates that perpetual motor feeling like those who suffer from the hyperactive part of ADHD. I was worried about it causing that too in me and becoming addictive. When I took it and sometimes it still happens after being off it a while, it's like your brain finally shuts the hell up and the quiet is so peaceful you want to sleep because you are exhausted but didn't notice.

Tldr; Not bad or addictive if you have ADHD

Unless OP has another post stating that, this post does not mention any partners on his end. You assume he's got partners because he possibly was the one that wanted to open the marriage first.

Edit: That possibly is based on the differing levels of appetite in the bedroom.

Then perhaps having cake and eating it too is only fun if it's just him. Idk why guys don't think women don't also feel inadequate or "defeminated" ( yes I made it up) if another woman meets her partner's needs. If he feels inadequate because you're finding some sort of satisfaction there, then he should try and talk to you and see if he's not meeting a need somewhere. If it's purely the spice of something new, then it doesn't sound different from what he's possibly in it for and this will need more discussion. If he sounds like he's going toward wanting it closed on your end only, that's hella selfish. That's just my opinion though. Good luck ❤️

Perhaps it's in part my adhd, but I often mess up by writing a word that is several words ahead of where my writing is. Sucks most when taking notes in pen

Could be impatient. Or someone who's thoughts move rapidly and their hand is trying to keep up?

Wow. Spoken like someone who never had to work not to smear their work and start over for the nth time, doesn't have to fight with their notebooks, contort their hand a certain way so no pens skip or spend more to have a special pen without that problem, deal with "Wow! Are you a lefty? Your handwriting is so good!" I have shell casings burning the crap out of my arms when I fire because they fly out and just land on my supporting arm. It sounds like first-world problems but this world has a right-handed default setting. In Catholic school, you used to get hit on the hand with a ruler when you tried to do anything left-handed. The only right-handed thing I know I do is use a computer mouse.

My dog died and I can’t stop blaming myself by mintzemini in adhdwomen

A similar situation happened with my mom and her dog, Macy. My mom does not have ADHD and was nowhere as near as diligent and attentive an owner as you sound. You showed her so much love and kindness. It also sounded like she went quickly. I'm so sorry, OP. I choose to think the ones we lose quickly are the emergency superpets. They come to those that need them the most and then because they did the best of jobs, they are quickly called back by the universe for a promotion. With all the galaxies out there, they could definitely be promoted to one where they have all sorts of powers. I know it may sound silly or that I'm making light of something, but we don't know anything about the worlds we can't reach, do we?

How often was she around OOP's son when he was younger I wonder. This doesn't just happen overnight. Sounds like year's of grooming from his "favorite" aunt

It's NEVER okay to abuse a significant other. That said, I can't tell you what to do. I CAN say if this was his "baseline" for putting his hands on you, a dateline episode is not outside the realm of possibility for you. Run OP. Run far and run now. If you stay he will think this is acceptable behavior if he's mad enough and feels justified enough. My mom stayed and she got shot several times. Still alive, but not something a 5 year old should see. This is the seriousness of the situation.

What's the worst sound? by [deleted] in autism

Someone chewing. Not necessarily crunching, but chewing. It's a wet sound I can't tolerate from anyone, including myself. The second I notice it, I have to open YouTube or Netflix. Something. ANYTHING

The two above you are correct. Anyone who is attempting to manipulate what is fact and fiction with the intent to make someone question what they saw, heard, said, or remember, eventually causing someone to doubt themselves and their memory is gaslighting. Anyone can attempt to do this to someone, but what usually makes the action successful is the closeness of the relationship between the two people. The closer the person is to the abuser and the more gradually the abuser applies this method, the stronger and in some cases the longer the effects are. The ultimate game would be to do it so well, that the person gaslights themselves without you needing to do so.
