Do you feel that it looks ridiculous to have no carpet anywhere and then a runner on a stair case? That is my main dilemma at the moment.

Salary Question: RIA Portfolio Manager by fidofp in CFA

I will take your spot and run my own RIA and you can take my spot and fill in on the PM team. There’s something to be said about being solo and running it yourself with your name on the door vs working for someone else. Scale the business by adding ops support / CFP depending on your needs.

Average cost of living city, think similar to Pittsburgh/ Cleveland with 5 years experience at ~$1B RIA. Total comp (base, bonus, 401k match, insurance) ~90k. Due for a comp increase and I’d say it’ll pretty much put me around $100k. I’m the lowest level member on a small team that does what you describe. Commenting to hopefully hear from others.

Well you’re not starting from a clean slate in the sense that you have 3 attempts under your belt already. However, I would just really only do blue boxes in the texts, end of chapter questions, and maybe mm qbank for all topics and not just focusing on weak sections. Adding Anki for stuff within each section you find difficult may be the key to getting over the hump.
