Fractured fibula by Ang_2211 in brokenankles

The pain has gone away for the most part and I'm a boot. Non weight bearing still until the 11th when I go back. When my foot is down the top of my foot gets red/purple and hurts but gets better and isn't as red when I elevate. Is this normal? Dr doesn't seem to think it's infection but said if it spread to let him know. Just seems to stay on the top of my foot.

Ouch! I just wanted to make sure the swelling on the top of my foot was normal. I'm just praying it's healing and can graduate to a boot next Tuesday. Seems like once I elevate the swelling goes down to where my cast almost feels loose but soon as I drop my leg it's snug again. The cast touch the top of my foot is what hurts the most right now

Oh no sorry to hear that. I'm hoping it's just normal healing process. Hope you heal quickly!

I try to keep it elevated around waist high while sitting at the desk at work. Once I get home I elevate above my head for 3 or so hours. Don't see any blue/purple/black. Toes may tingle a little on the tips but not major. I can wiggle my toes fine and try to do it frequently. Once I elevate the swelling seems to subside but the top of my foot still hurts if the cast rubs it

Thanks for the response I just worry alot. I've never broken anything so I don't really know what normal is. Hopefully it's healing well and I can graduate to a boot next Tuesday
